In Dec 2012 I did a shuttle-assisted loop hike of the Hermit Creek Trail, hiking the 30-some miles from Hermits Rest to the Village in 4 days. The weather was unsettled and sometimes awful, but the array of light and clouds on the hoodoos, temples and canyon walls was absolutely spectacular.
Pictures never can capture the immensity and grandeur of the Canyon, but mine were particularly bad. I think the image stabilization function on my camera was malfunctioning, causing all the pictures taken in low light to blur. But last year my preferred photo editing app (Luminar Neo) added an AI-driven sharpening function that rescued many of these pictures.
I put the best of these into a little photo essay which you can enjoy here.
