Mark makes a point. Please use the Wiki that Mark has kindly provided.

As for meeting? 9am at Bear Valley Visitor Center. It is about a 6 mile hike over varied (but easy) terrain. Hope the weather holds up.

And yes. Let's confirm here. I will pm each member just to touch base.

Please confirm me…….and my buddy Greg is psyched to go, he's I think 3-4 on the waiting list, so he's hoping there are some cancellations.

I plan to buy a shelter in the Spring, so I'm looking forward to checking out all of the options.

This trip will be sort of a UL showroom!

Ahhh too bad Nate! There will be more trips in the future as you know. Thanks for letting us know. As the day progresses I will update and move others off the waiting list and pm them.

EJ +1 are the two on top of the waiting list. I have sent a pm to him.

Jennifer Smith +1 is next in line now on the waiting list. If I don't get a response from EJ by say…Friday then Jennifer gets the next spot. Please respond to this post to let me know that you are still interested.

For those that are on the waiting list. Here is the deal. If you do not respond to the post and or pm within a certain amount of time, then I need to pull you off and go to the next in line. In all fairness, we all are busy folks and need to check in with family and make work plans to attend. It is only fair to respond asap so I can keep the ball rolling. Just because your name comes off the waiting list and onto the list of people attending, you still need to let me know please. It would be a real bummer if you showed up and never confirmed with me and your spot was taken.

I can put your friend on the waiting list.

As for the weather in Jan. Longterm weather forcasting is calling for a unusually dry month. Looks like it might be some nice weather there.

If some folks could bring some charcoal for a fire that would be wonderful!!

Ken,

What did you want more of….fire wood or charcoal?

I would be willing to bring charcoal and get some plastic bags and have small bags for people to carry in a little bit of charcoal….pre-made.

Might make it easier/more likely that we will have it there.

I am also willing to haul in a duraflame log and see about bringing extra ones if someone is willing to carry them in.

Love fire…doing my part to make it a warm, hoter world. :)

Do we need lighter fluid?

If anyone is willing to carry either, please post up and let me know.

since we can only use charcoal (not sure about a Duraflame logs). If each of us had a small baggy of charcoal we would have plenty for the evening. If purchase the ones that do not need lighter fluid then that takes away from us carrying lighter fluid for the fire. Or that or we could use some of alcohol from the stoves to be truely ultralight

Hey everyone, Mark put up a Wiki page for the trip on page 8. It has gear lists for people to check out gear, try out gear, carpool needs, where the camps are etc. It is quite helpful and useful. Please check this out and add to it if you feel the need
