Tony if you have the charcoal at the trail head in bags I'll carry a bag or 2. We should be there by 9:00 am. Thanks Jack

Jack,

Thanks.

It won't be much….my plan is to have a handful in each bag.

The idea is that if everyone helps out, no one person will be greatly effected.

Plus, the distance is relatively short.

I will make a point of double bagging them, so there is little chance of getting people's gear dirty.

I'm not sure I understand the gear section of the trip Wiki. Is the gear available to demo section stuff that I can borrow?

I would love to try out a tent, if that's what it means….

David,

I am with you…my small brain and limited intellect can not seem to figure out how to use the link and post up information.

That said, I have a Contrail Tarptent.

If someone wants to sleep in overnight, they are welcome to.

Just let me know and I can bring it.

The intention was "demo" was gear that can be borrowed, "view" is gear someone is bring for themselves but people might be interested in checking it out.

Yes David some of that gear is available to try. What are you looking for?

PostedJan 5, 2010 at 5:55 pm

but i'm coming from sacramento and could give someone a ride or wouldn't mind riding with someone and chipping in for gas, though i'm undecided if i'll head up friday night (possibly staying in SF) or early saturday.

i haven't decided yet what gear to bring – it will depend on the weather and other factors of personal temperment. if i can pack small, i'll carry my stuff in a z-packs blast (the small one, stripped down with no extras). if weather is nice i may bring a stealth nano-0 tarp for cover, and sleep in an older model bivy from MLD with silnylon bottom and DWR top. if there will be charcoal fire, i may go without a stove and heat water on that.

Hey Ken, I plan to buy a new tent in the Spring. Some of the tents I'm considering are the SMD WIld Oasis or Lunar Solo, the Anti-Gravity Gear tarp tent or the new Zpack tent.

Basically, I like a floor.

So, maybe Mark V.'s Superfly and/or Cameron's DuoMid are representative of this style.

David I'm bringing my Lunar Solo, if you haven't seen one up close you can check mine out that Sat. Jack

If any one is interested I have an Hilleberg Akto that I can bring if someone wants to check it out. May be up for sale in the near future ( not trying to sell it here will post on gear swap when I do) looking to purchase a new Scarp 1 in 2010. If any one wants to check it out just post it here and I will bring it. I can't figure out the wiki page or I would post it there. Thanks Jack
