Ok here is the first 25. This was broken down by who responded to the post first. Sorry but this is the only way to be fair. Also if you have added others onto the list after the first 25 then they will be going onto the second site list of 25. Let's hope that we get both sites

A thought. I don't know how many of you are willing to do this, but large tarps to cover area so that we can hang out would be handy if the weather report favors rain. Also, I am bringing charcoal to burn for a fire as they do not allow fires. Would anyone else be interested in adding some weight to you pack for this???? It will be cold-ish and having some warmth (aside from single malt whiskey) would be nice.

also just to clear some stuff up. There will be a snow camping trip in Yosemite. Most likely Febuary or March.

The weather for the Point Reyes trip will can be wet, windy or sunny. Highs can be during the daytime at 50-60 degrees with nightime lows in the high 30's or so. I would bring gear to deal with the weather and use accordingly.

Camping sounds fun – always does …. will there be any actual hiking /backpacking (not sure of the area). If so how far and if two nights in diff locations, distance between the two?

And finally….woooo hooooo!

we're hiking in from the Palomarin TH. It is a 6 mile hike to Wildcat camp. I am not sure what others have planned beyond that. I am only doing one night and heading home. Once there, there are many places for day hiking etc. This is more of a meet other folks, and and hope to find others to hike with weekend. We have been doing this for almost a year and many of us have done some great hikes over the summer.

Well tomorrow is the earliest day to reserve our spots. WHO IS IN FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AS WELL? Or do I only need to reserve for one night. Please let me know ASAP. I'm anal and like to get the details hammered out early. Going to be a great time!

I have an engagement Friday night so I will be another Saturday night only person.

Ken… this is such a short hiking… I would be be happy to carry in an extra tarp for group. Alas, I don't have a good dining fly anymore. I could bring a 4-5 person pyramid tarp but that's not really ideal for a group to hangout under if all they are hiding from is rain. From me mail if you want me to bring it.

It's too far out for me to commit to two nights, but definitely can do one.

If our site is too crowded, I'm willing to get my own site or stealth bivy in the woods. Really, I'm just coming for the 2nd annual Ken Helwig Show.

BTW, I thought the hors d'oeuvres potluck at the Bear Lake trip worked out well….maybe people can talk about sharing food when it gets closer to January.

Nate, exactly. If the sites fill up there are individual sites around the group sites that open for reservations.

Apps again??? Hmmmmm sounds good to me!

Just some points of clarifications and ideas

If we have a major pacific storm coming in that weekend, then it will be a no go for me. We went last year with the threat of rain and did not get a drop. BUT a major storm would be a pain.

Should this trip be an out and back or like last year we do a shuttle. Me personally am leaning towards out and back due to how many of us are going and the amount of driving around just to get everyone to and from. Just my vote.

O.K. I secured the last available group site at Wildcat Camp at 9:02 this morning. How the rest were secured so early being this is the first day available to reserve is beyond me. Anyway Ken H. reserved one individual spot at Wildcat also. So we are good to go for up to 29. I also reserved a individual spot for Friday night at Glen Camp. So the few who would like to join me are more than welcome. See you in January!

ok here is the deal. The names and amounts have to match in order for others to go. We have a total of 28 people signed up and room for just one more. We might be able to squeeze one on the fly if we can to make it 30 but risk getting in trouble. All individual campsite were gone by 9:30 am this morning. I got the very last one. Sorry for those that would like to come along but we are maxed out. I am still in shock that the sites filled up within 1/2 hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
