Coming up shortly. Jay, stoney weather? Hope so! That Modelo was GOOD! Can hardly believe it's been a year. A wild ride this year too.. Happy Holidays to all. Does anyone want to see if other spots at Wildcat have become available for Saturday? Might have been a cancellation.

Ken H, I have a couple pm with you last month or so to confirm. Remember, I was coming in the night before. I think I still have copies in my email. Anyway, I'm still confirmed + 1.

Sheila, I have you down on the second site +1 confirmed already. No probs!

Ken,

So do we have two sites then?

If so, does that mean we now have a limit of 40 people?

If so sweet!

I will bet that many (or is that most) of the people coming on this trip have an interest in some piece of cottage gear that someone on this trip already owns. On this trip we will certainly be able to check out each others gear… but I am willing to bet that many people have duplicate items, so some of their cottage gear isn’t coming on this trip.

For people who are willing to let people try their stuff out, it might be useful to post what you would be willing to loan out for this trip. To this end, I have created a Point Reyes 2nd Annual Trip Wiki Page. Add what you will loan out and claim items that you would like to try.

Ken H. – Can you verify for me that my buddy Greg is on the waiting list?

He's psyched to go if he can squeeze in.

Thank you!

Greg is now on the waiting list. We do have I think 3-4 ahead of him though.

If anyone would like to go. I would be checking with the Rangers and see if there has been any cancellations. Even on the day of the hike, folks will not show up and if you are somewhat daring, you might be able to do a walk in and nab a permit.

How to dress…last year Back row, Cameron, Tony, Carey. Lane and Jeremy in the middle, with me Joshua, Jay and Ken H in front. A lot more people this year.
Don't come looking like these folks, out for the weekendpoint reyes heavies

reminds of the last time I was at reyes, got to arch rock, and saw a guy eating sushi… we all got to chatting towards the end, he comments about my friends large pack and my "daypack" and makes the comment about why I wouldn't want to stay the night here under the stars… I chuckle and tell him about BPL, and various sites… then cap it off with the fact that my pack weighs 18lbs, whilst my buddies weighs about 40 and I have the stove, fuel, ipod, speaker and a nikon D40 w/ tripod… was good times… hope he's on here somewhere

Hi guys,
1)What kind of shoes/boots are you planning to wear this time of the year @ Pt. Reyes? Recommend GTX, eVent, Water Proof or resistant? My Trail Runners are WR.
2)Hoping to do another coastal trip end of March with my husband. Which would you suggest? Coast over Wild Cat? Which site #? Have to reserve next week. Other areas?

Thanks for putting this together. Enjoyed your old trip report pics! Looking forward to meeting you all!
Merry Christmas.

Sheila,

Last year, I just took my trail runners….no waterproofing or DRW.

At the worst, the trail could be could be a muddy fire road or your shoes might get wet from the short grass that is around the campsite.

I plan on bringing trail runners, an extra pair of socks, and some plastic bags to slip over my socks and then into my shoes should it really be nasty.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

I put some items up on the wiki, fantastic idea !

I'll carry and share some brew for a ride from any Bart station.

Cameron,

I can swing by your place to give you a ride if you want.

If Jeremy and Jay are coming, maybe we can all carpool together.

The spot I have for Friday is full. I called the reservation line this morning and spots were available for Friday at Glen Camp. If anyone is thinking of possibly wanting to camp Friday as well. Please act now and let me know. I will most likely reserve another spot just to be safe… PM me, and we'll go from there. Thanks!

ken
thanks for the info
i would not mind camping at glen camp friday night however
im probably not going to be at the trailhead until 5 or 6 pm so i would be hiking in after dark not a problem for me but the rest of my gang may not be up for it
can you give me some more info on glen camp is it easy to find at night and how far of a hike would it be for me and my 5 yr old son?? i have no idea how long of a drive it will be from bakersfield to the trailhead so i guess that would decide if we could roll in to glen camp before dark or not guess i should do some research to find an estimated drive time if it looks like i need to be there sooner maybe i can swing a earlier start time but my son is in school that day so ill have to see if i can swing
it looks like jumpbackjack is going to drive up late friday he was going to ride with me but can t get out of work that day
thanks for any extra info im trying to plan as far ahead as possible so that travel will go smoothly
sounds like it is going to be a bomber trip
