So far long term forecasts are showing for a sunny, mid 60's weekend for Presidents Day Weekend. In years past, we have had showers, snow flurries, and a little rain, so always come prepared. Looks like we are in for good weather!

"What is this GGG?"

That is exactly the point I tried to make a week ago. It is not descriptive.

GROAN………..

Does nobody ever try the search box first!?!

I've posted it described every way I can think of. I throw my hands up I am done.

Really?!?! Come on! Head explodes!!!!!

It takes a short time here to learn things like HYOH,HH,MLD,TT, ETC. Add GGG to that . Sheesh!

BPL isn't obvious, and 99% of threads here have bad titles.

-B.G.- still finds them all and comments on them all.

At this point if people don't know GGG, they haven't tried to find out either.

Not much you can do about that.

What does "San Francisco Bay Area BPL Member Fourth Annual Mid Winter Social Gathering and Lightweight Gear Extravaganza" stand for?

PostedFeb 7, 2012 at 4:03 pm

That is helpful, but it is not clear what you mean by "extravaganza."

I've tried to find more information, but it's not clear.

Do you mean a demonstration? Or more of a display?

Or are we talking a full-blown exposition?

I definitely might try to attend if it's a marvel or a spectacular.

This is exactly a point I tried to make a week ago. It is not descriptive.

I apologize. I read the whole thread and found out what it was and forgot to delete my comment.

I also checked out the posts about it. I don't know about you, but if I was going, I'd have the biggest pack possible. Skin out weight: 75 lbs. Base weight: 10lbs. Consumables: 65 lbs of beer.

What time are people showing up on Friday. I have the whole day off and was planning on being their around 11 or 12. Will anyone else be there around this time? Don't want to be the first one there.

@ Frank. Marc Eldridge(Mr. Firewood) will be camped at the HQ Thursday night. I plan on getting there late morning as well. There are a few who will show around that time. Half the fun is identifying the other BPLrs that you haven't met yet.

@ Daniel Yes there are. Yes on hammocks. Water is provided for you ready to use. I'll PM you as well.

I would recommend that people be prepared to haul in all the water that they might need, in case we end up with rain and muddy conditions that prevent us from taking the support vehicles in and the supply of water that they have for us.

Never hurts, just in case.

So that means two types of Platypus bags….6 Liters of water and 6 Liters of booze.

No support vehicles = take the water

Support vehicles allowed = take the booze
