I did reserve a group spot at Manzanita Point for Friday night. An easy night hike. I was fairly non plussed at the HQ campground. I am open to suggestions.

Money wise. Every bit is going to cover costs. If any is left over it will go to the Coe Park Fund. Backcountry group sites are $75 a night. I am still working out paying for the parking lot. Will have a better idea on parking costs as we get closer and I have a better idea of how many cars we are talking about.

Edit. Unfortunately paid parking will be required. More about that later.

52 days away. Need to know how many we are in for this time around. We had over 70 sign up last time with 43 or so showing up despite the storm of the century that weekend. So if you would please chime in and let us know. Thanks.

I have no idea what a ggg is, but count me in I guess. Couldn't pass up an opportunity to sleep outside.

Denise,

If you go to Paypal.com, click on the tab for Send Money.

Right hand side, fill in the amount of money you are sending.

Select "Friends & Family".

Filling the email address to send money to: kenthompson2@mac.com

From: (your email address)

Follow the instructions from there….as far as I can go.

In my case, I would log into my Paypal account that I setup and do the same thing.

Hope this helps and glad that you can make it.

You are going to have a blast….more geeky people and UL gear than you can shake a stick at! :)

I am thinking of bringing my friend who is a traditional backpacker to stare and laugh at the UL Freaks….hehehehe.

Coming up quick! Get some time off from work and come on and join the fun! Make new friends, see old friends. More equipment than you can shake a stick at. It only happens once a year(so far). So don't miss out. Carpool.

I'll be coming Friday night. A couple questions.

I assume most everyone does their own food thing. And folks do backpacking style cooking, is that typical?

Also, is this thread the place to arrange for carpools? I'd be up for carpooling from the Bay Area, specifically Berkeley.

Good Morning Doug.

Yes we all feed ourselves. We did have some that brought some food to share. That is always nice.

Have a number of people coming from Berkeley, carpooling should be easy. Feel free to discuss that here.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Just over a month away folks. I know there are more of you who would like to come. Please speak up so I can make sure we can accommodate everyone.

I'm most likely heading down Saturday morning. For those that are hiking in Friday, what time are you planning on getting there?
