Put "Tracy, CA" in Google Maps and pull out a bit and you'll see all these parks.

Hey David, Do you want to carpool?-I am meeting up with Tony and Cameron..You could leave a car at my house or what ever works best..
-Jay
Sorry my Laptop got some worms very bad–I had to call the Geak Squad!!!!!So I can not recieve PM's until next week…I am on my wifes work computer.
Just wanted to give a BIG THANKS TO Ken H. for all the organizing and hard work, not easy keeping track of all these names, and also a BIG THANKS TO Ken T. for securing a second site. You guys ROCK its people like you, and all the other members that help make BPL what it is, a great community of people loving the outdoors together. Thanks again Jack
hey ken, sorry it took a bit to get back to you, thanks again for all the time you have spent on this, I'd love for my other buddy to go, but would hate for another BPL'er to have to stay home because of it, that said put any member in front of my second guest, if theres a spot or him, after members get stab at it then great if not thats cool too… hope all is well, and thanks again to everyone that helped to make this happen
Jesse you have yourself +1 for a total of 2. You were asking me for a third member to go…correct?????
On page 11 it shows the confirmed for the trip and I have you for a total of two spots.
Yea, that was a request for a 3rd in my party, I think thats where we had a little confusion, that said, and as I posted above, I hate to take a 3rd spot for my buddy if it means a member here, can't go… if there is an open spot thats cool, if not thats cool too… thanks agian for all everyone has done to put this together, can't wait…
/fingers crossed for weather
Gotcha. Should be fun!!!
First of let me say thanks for all the kind words. I am so looking forward to putting faces to names! The rangers request that we list all vehicles and their license plate numbers which will be parked overnight at the trailhead. Now I am heading in on Friday. I am also picking up the permit for the group site for Saturday. Needless to say I need the transportation info before the trip from just about everyone. Just PM me, no need to have that info out in the open. Thanks in advance. Ken
Cameron, Jay, & Jeremy,
Did we want to take my Saturn or Jay's vehicle/truck?
My Saturn can fit 5 people, but only if we hate the 3rd person in the middle of the back row.
My car is a compact.
I am fine driving, but it might be tight in the back.
I only ask this because Ken needs to know license plates of vehicles.
What do we want to do?
-Tony
Thanks Jay for the PM. Got all the needed info. See you guys there. So your gang is heading in at Palomarin.
Bump. Those going please read above.
Hey Ken
I hope you're not too shaken up!
What do you need? Make, model and tags?
Thanks David. Yes the usual info.
Weekend after next! Please update Ken and I as needed. Thanks to the few who have given vehicle info already. I see that some are thinking of going in at Palomarin. With the main group going in at Bear Valley, please specify trailhead when supplying vechicle info. Thanks!
Guys, Ken is correct about trailheads and please make sure that you give either myself or Ken your vehicle info please. Ken has the permit for the big group and cannot write your car information due to him going in on Friday.
This might be a stupid question but is there some where to get water to filter, or do we pack in all the water we need? Thanks Jack
Water at the campground. Bear Valley also..
Thanks Ken, does it still need to be filtered? Jack
Normally the water don't need to be filtered but it sometimes gets contaminated. When there is a problem a little sign it put over the spigot when tells you to treat the water.

I am curious ; those of you bringing a sleeping bag, what are you bringing? I am trying to decide what to bring for my daughter ( runs warm, won't layer up when going to sleep) and myself ( run cold, will layer, layer, layer). Our pads are a prolite and a downmat 7. Choice of bags : Montbell ul stretch #4 and # 2, WM Apache ( 15) and Lafuma 800 ( fill is actually 600). Oh, both in a 2 person tent.
Last year, I took my 40F Marmot Atom bag and layered up with my Montbell Thermawrap Jacket and was a bit cold. (I am a cold sleeper). I slept in a bivy, under a tarp.
I think that a 30F bag would be fine.
That said, I am going to experiment and see if I can bring my thermawrap pants this time around to see if I can get this 40F bag to work in the colder seasons.
-Tony
Katharina I have an Apache too. That would definately be overkill. A 32 degree bag with good insualtion underneath you will be fine.
As for water, aside from the spigot there is a creek too.
Thanks Ken for the info. I didn't get an answer on the pm I sent you. I also will be bringing my Marmot Atom I just got it back from Marmot they washed it and put 4oz more of down in the bag so now instead of a 16oz bag it weighs 1 lb 9.7 oz. I'm going to call them and see if they can take it back out. I already have a bag that weighs 1 lb 10 oz I don't need 2. If they won't then this might be for sale if any one wants to look at it on Sat the 23rd. Gettin close can't wait WOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!! HOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!
come on jack take your marmot arroyo instead of the atom
im taking mine looks like we better bring rain gear too
in case the rain gods smile on us lol
