If you'd like, I can mail your order to you in Australia (for the price of shipping). We have a post office next door. Feel free to PM me.

Too bad they didn't have the Neoair or the WM Caribou or else it might have been worth it to me. I already have too much stuff as it is.

It just worked for me again!
Yes I just bought a WM Megalite long left zip- I was really just seeing if it would work. I already have a 30* bag, my wife is going to kill me.
I have to unload some of my other bags now- anyone want a Marmot Hydrogen that has only been use twice! (2 nights)
Help I can't stop myself.
I had left my cart open for the last week, maybe that is why. An email just came through- my order is complete!

Dear Rick

Thank you for the kind offer and apologies for the delay in getting back to you – different time zone …

Sadly it would appear that BPL'ers have now bought ALL of the Megalites! And nearly every other WM bag! But I still get the discount on anything I put in the cart so I will wait for a day or so to see if they restock.

Regards

Arapiles

ps I need to check with BPL why I can't PM.

Last night the first of the sale items arrived, among which was the Versalite I'd ordered. Not realizing what was in the long, skinny box, I took a razor and slit the tape….

You can guess the rest. I have small 1/4" tear in the black underside sleeping bag fabric. The down is so fluffy, I could barely keep it from coming through.

I don't know if you could grab the edges of the fabric to sew them together without the down getting in the way.

I tried some Shoe-Goo, waited until it hardened and then put a piece of electrical tape over it (it wouldn't stick to the fabric until I put Shoe-Goo on it).

Any experience with this for sleeping bags or other suggestions on how to fix it?

It's like getting a new boat. It's not yours until you put the first hole in the bottom.

Is the WM Ultralight an good bag compared to the other WM bags? I know how you plan to use it needs to be considered but I think an 20 degree bag might be good to have as a general use bag. I camp in the winter and it sometimes gets into the upper 20's or lower 30's. How about length? Is the 6'6" to long? I am about 6'.

PostedMar 6, 2009 at 8:34 am

Jeff – I'm 6' tall and I found the 6' length to be too short. The 6'6" WM length fits me much better. The UltraLite is also very narrow, I'd try one on to make sure you fit.

Bag arrived very swiftly, looks great. WM is no longer using Pertex Quantum (or the "new" version from Japan) in their Extremelite series, but the fabric they're now using looks even better, more supple and maybe more breathable, than the Quantum they were using (which was over-calendared, IMHO.)

I called WM and they recommended taping a little piece of rip-stop sticky-backed fabric to the slit. They are sending a piece in the mail.

Can't wait to see what happens when my pet cougar tries to play with it.

Jeff, I'm 5'9" and don't feel as if I have more than an inch to spare in the 6' bag. I think it depends a bit on the length of your feet, surprisingly, as they stretch out when you're lying down. Ideally your toes aren't pressing against the bottom of the bag. And bags always seem to fit "longer" when you're lying on a flat, carpeted floor, than more or less scrunched on the undulant outdoors. If I were 6'–not likely anytime soon–I would definitely size up.

Looks like the last posted code (3M5-1-7XKL5) no longer works. Is there a new one available?

Thanks.

I'm 6' and fit fine in my summerlite. I have 12.5 feet too. :-o
I can feel my toes at the bottom of the bag, that's for sure. I'm definitely using every inch of it, but it's not uncomfortable. I sleep on my side though, so i might be bending my knees a bit. not totally sure, i haven't put the thought into it.

I stay away from certain brands of bags that make regular bags fit up to 5'10" i think big agnes and nunatak for example. booooo. i figure no point in carrying around another 6 inches of shtuff I don't need.

I had a small blow-out in the seam at the footbox in my MYOG quilt in France in 2007. I put a little fabric with seamstick tape over the blow out, intending to make a better repair at home. The tape is still there today …

Cheers

Ryan, here's an interesting subtlety. Sleeping on ones side, in addition to the possibility that ones knees are bent, one's feet might not extend as far as they do, more straightened out by the force of gravity, when one is sleeping on ones back.
