If you make a cuben version, you can expand on Wm Chilton's idea and make it the (wait for it…)
    Rubic Cuben

Since you consider it a mere tarp instead of a tent, you could call it (groan…)
Borah Mere (great for protecting hobbits).

For a hint of Polynesia, maybe "Borah Bora[h]".

Since it weighs only 13.3 oz, perhaps it's the "Borah Less".

(I better stop there…that's probably enough PUNishment.)

    (Edited to correct typo.)

I first saw this in the Emigrant Wilderness and a lot of companies call their gear after peaks, passes, or areas of land so why not the:

    Emigrant Tarp/Shelter

or a few others that come to mind are:

    Tempest

Janus, after the Roman god of change

Nyx or Nox after the god of the night

    Dragoman, means guide

Et Hoc Genus Omne, means Et cetera because there are so many ways to set it up.

Torpid, feelings of laziness because your under such a great tarp

There were some other great one mentioned already too. I'm excited to see this made available to the public.
    Thanks,
    James

Maybe name it after some sort of animal that folds up/retracts when threatened:

    Tortoise
    Turtle
    Armadillo
    Hedgehog
