a lifetime wild trout worshipper…flyrodder for 25 yrs now…and backpacker even longer…my formative hike was 30 days on the John Muir Trail in 1991. raised in the insanity of L.A., and 10 yrs in the SF bay area, i left the rat race behind and moved to southern oregon 18 yrs ago, one o the best decisions of my life.
when it comes to hiking, for me there is nothing quite like the southern high sierra, esp from the E side trailheads.
