was just going through the posts and was going to post a reminder post about Point Reyes. Nate, no problem on the late start. The hike from Palomarin Trailhead is an easy 6 to 6.5 mile hike that is pretty flat. We are staying at the "group campground" at the north side of the campground.

Dennis, sorry to hear that you would not be able to attend. This just started out as a lets get some guys together and take a hike and has blossomed into a big hike here. I'd assume that there will be many hikes this summer and I for one need partners due to most of my friends being scattered throughout the USA as well as having family commitments.

Later in the week I will start posting meeting times etc. If that is ok

Ok I am going down the list of folks that have expressed interest in going. This is what I have:
Joshua Billings +1
Jay Wilkerson
Ken Thompson
Casey Bowden
Jeremy Pendrey
Tony Wong
Denis Hazelwood
Nate Meinzer +1

This list if the maybe's:
Dylan Taylor
Aaron Sorenson
Stephen Morse
Michael Skwarczek
Ryan Dunne
Cary Bertoncini
Andrew Zender

If I left out anyone I'm sorry. Just let me know. I will be pm'ing everyone on the list to find out the final count.

Let's say Saturday, January 24th at 11am at the Bear Valley Visitor Center. Some of us have already met others that are on this hike so it should be easy for some of us to spot each other. I drive a grey Honda CRV with a bicycle rack on top.

Sweet! An 11 am start means I don't have to get up before my usual o'crack thirty time. See you all there.

Ken,

If the weather is anything like today we're in for a real treat! I'll see you guys at Wildcat as I plan to ride my bike in and back from the 5 Brooks Trailhead.

11:30 is good for me. I'm really looking forward to putting faces on the BPL posts. With a group this large I hope I'm not the only one who will be carrying brandy and chocolate.

Praying to the Sun "whoever" for good weather.

No brandy for me Dennis, but either bourbon or scotch. 11:30 is not problem. This is a nice, easy hike that we can do in a few hours so there is no rush. As much as we need rain, I would like one weekend of sun and that would be the 24th!

I hope I can make this, looks like a great chance to meet some of the local bpl members.

Ken,

I've pm'ed you a couple of times, but didn't seem to make your list. I'm interested in going and can help with carpooling if necessary.

Richard

I'd like to join in on this, if it's not too late. I can likely help with the carpooling, too.

Cameron, Richard, and Lane, you all are invited if you'd like to go. Sorry Richard I must have missed your pm's or misplaced them. Sorry about that. See you guys on the 24th

Well were looking at rain for Wed. and Thursday. As much as we need rain, hopefully we get a little window to do this.

Hey Ken, Unless its a big El Nino Storm which I hope it is not. A little rain can stop a bunch of UL backpackers-right! I would still go if it rains, but it depends on how much it rains. Play it by ear.

just a chance Jay. If it is a big storm. No way will I go. But this does not sound like this.

Ken, thanks so much for the generous offer regarding the carpool. currently, I'm planning to meet Cary in downtown S.F., and we're both going from there; however, if those plans change then I'd take you up on your offer if still good.

Gotta grab that spot, then, Lane. I'm coming up from LA, gonna crash with Josh, and, hopefully, get into that carpool with Ken. I'll coach myself if I have to, but I'd rather not after that drive from down South.

Ken, I PM'd you earlier. Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Been a busy Holidaze.

Lookin forward to seein' you all!

Michael, you're "coming up from LA"? then you're welcome to that spot, my friend. I grew up "down South." see you at Pt. Reyes.

Boy, I really hope that this trip happens and I don't mind going if there is a little rain either.

Something for everyone to think about.

I will be taking my camera and taking a bunch of photos with the intent of eventually posting up a photo essay of this in the photo gallery section.

So I can get all of your straight in my mind, I will want to take short video clips on my camera to learn the following from everyone:

1. Name
2. Where do you live (to show how far you traveled)
3. What is your favorite piece of clothing & equipment
4. What 1 piece of UL gear you are dying to buy next

Hoping to make this a light hearted essay and excited to get a chance to meet all of you that I have known through the forums.

Michael, I got your pm and replied. Done deal. Lane, thanks for being a good guy. Tony what a great idea.

Nate, yeah there is a small chance of rain wed-thurs no biggie for me. If a storm rolls in during that weekend. I would reconsider. I would much rather have pleasant weather that we could all enjoy ourselves.

A suggestion, if it is raining or drizzling, would someone have a tarp that we could rig up to have a group tarp thing???
