sunny and warm here :) when we get to S Kaibab, David won't even know he left Alasaka!
Good luck to all. Have fun and be safe.
Spring weather at the GC is unpredictable. We were there mid April about 5 years ago and it was upper 20s on the rim and snowing little snow balls that changed to sleet and then to rain as we went down. At Indian Gardens it was probably 55-60F and when we got to Phatom Ranch I'd say it was 75F and sunny. Just goes to show you the inner canyon weather is completely different than the rim. Best of Luck to everyone on the R2R2R.
Good luck you guys and gals! we all await your pics and trip reports.
Jake
Everyone is safe despite some wild adverse weather conditions that hammered all the runners yesterday, particularly on the return ascent up S. Kaibab . Im laying in our tent now along the S. Rim still soaking in how miserable and unbelievably fun this experience was. Listening to Craig (who is a big dude) describe how he and Torrey had to drop down on all fours in 50-60mph wind totally exposed with blowing snow in frigid temps along Skeleton Point gives you some idea how ridiculous the weather turned out. After we nervously waited for hours for the last crossers to ascend yesterday evening we converged for some beer and company as a group and exchanged our experiences on the day.
Some great people turned out for this and im glad to have shared it with them.
Now to eat, craigs stirring out by the stove. Im sure others will chime in a day or two.
Fantastic, I was waiting on hearing from you guys! Cant wait to hear more.
Congratulations to all who made this trip! This has been an inspiring thread and I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures.
I dont want to rewrite all this here, so heres the link to my
write up about our r2r2r, Im sure everyone has there own unique

Torrey's trip report/pictures
When do we get the patented Eugenius trip report, that is so good it makes most of us never post a trip report?
Wow, torrey! Sounds like it was a really intense run. Nicely done.
Thank you John for making that link more manageable! I know a few of the other guys will be posting reports when they get home, mine's only up so fast 'cause I live here, i never left home, just spent the day in my backyard :)
Looked absolutely miserable. Great report! Thanks for sharing.
Great report Torrey. Full value conditions for sure.
