This is a quick little overnight to check out the location for the GGG in Feb. Want to get some photos up of the crossing and general area. I'll be at the trailhead Friday night. Hike in Saturday, look around, camp out. Hike out and back home on Sunday.

Hiking the Redbud Trail

Trailhead is located at the bridge on SR20 that crosses the North Fork of Cache Creek.

Not the best, but here are a few. They were taken in October 2003. The flat shady area is Wilson Valley. Have fun on your scouting trip.

Thinking about this but I can't get up there until very late Friday or even early AM Saturday.

Matt. We'll hike in at a decent hour on Sat. Since I have a drive, I am just going to camp in the van on Fri. night.

I believe it's a recon Ken put up on 10/14 for the GGG IV site.

Ken, I may be asleep under your van in the morning. Please check before moving it.

I need to double check the calendar but I'm game if it fits.

I can drive from SF.

"Jim", I don't get off until 5:00. You can take the pictures, saving me 5ozs of camera and the blurry mess I make of photos.

I'm interested in coming, but am very much a maybe.

Eli, if you'd have me I might be in on like 24 hours notice or something stupid like that. Don't save a seat for me if someone more committed speaks up.

I'll let you guys know.

I'll work out this week whether I can go and let you guys know.

Anybody driving from SF/east bay to this recon?

I would LOVE to go, since I'm new to the bay area, want to meet some of you folks before february, and am itching to go on a hike… unfortunately I don't have a vehicle besides busses/BART.

I can pitch in gas money, thats no problem. If anybody is driving up from SF or from somewhere accessible by BART, please let me know if you have room for one more!

Thanks guys, and even if I can't find a way up, I hope its an awesome recon mission!

Should be doable. Have a few from the city coming on this trip. Friday night departure OK for you? Or do you want to head out at O'crack Thirty on Saturday?

The word is out. You should hear from somebody…

James,

The current plan calls for Eli to to drive up on Friday after work (after 5). He may have another obligation. In that case I will drive. Either way you are welcome. James Winstead may also be coming. It would be simplest to meet in the City somewhere along the Embarcadero.

I'm getting envious . . . but can't do another drive down from Portland!

Not my week???? Ken, not my year…… Keep me informed, after all that has gone this year, a nice quiet hike would do me good. Everyone, have a fun hike and I hope you all stay dry and warm!

Doug, hitchhike from the airport. We'll drive real slow out of The City and try to find you along the way.
