And he comes to rescue us from seriousness once again!
That's what I'm talkin' about!

Ha! Thanks for that Doug, my ribs hurt. So true, UL'ers are often an odd bunch with varying degrees and shades of weird and unsightly. The man in the poochy down pants and questionable bulges, whose identity is unknown has changed my perspective on kilts, they're not that bad relatively. Doug, I do believe you owe Tony an apology though. ;-)

There has been a resurgence of kilt-wearing in Scotland.

It was found that the sound of zippers stampedes the sheep….

"I do believe you owe Tony an apology though."

Sorry Tony! But I, personally, like the JRB sarong!

No it takes cajones to BASE jump.

Other than the parachute anything else you're wearing is just a fashion accessory. :P

The only thing that takes cajones to do/make is sperm and the associated activities. The rest of the gutsy stuff…..not so much ;)

I think they make a pill that will acomplish the 'associated activites' so the only thing cajones are good for is makin' sperm. :P

I'm sensing a lot of hostility (insecurity?) in the last few posts. It's gettin' pretty mean around here. How about we get back on topic? How many people hike with a kilt?

As a Scot, i've often worn one to weddings and suchlike.
The older traditional 'big kilt', or 'feileadh mor' to give it it's gaelic name, was a different animal. As someone else said, it was also used as a shelter, and bedding.
I've met battle re-enactment guys who go on week long treks in the hills carrying traditional gear, including weapons. They simply lie down in the heather at night and wrap themselves in it.

Matthew if you're sensing any hostility or insecurity in the last few posts then you're projecting it all on your own because I simply see some good natured fun.

It's a thread about kilts. Kilts are fun, goofy, and for the right climate very utilitarian. They can however be a pain in the rear to get on though, at least the Scottish Tartan.

I think you're putting the pin in the wrong place…….

Never said wearing a kilt was difficult. Puttin' a Tartan on though and getting all those pleats right is a pain. ;)

Editi to add:

Getting the pleats right without having to resort to lying the fabric down on the ground that is. I suppose I just need to wear my Scottish Tartan more often so I can have more practice! :P
