Thanks to everyone who have confirmed and paid. We are basically full up at this time. Guaranteed to be a weekend to remember.
We will be asking everyone to check in and get your site and raffle ticket. See everyone in a few weeks!

Who? All nice people who are interested in lightweight and ultralight backpacking.

What? The largest non-commercial lightweight and ultralight inclined backpackers get together anywhere.
Gear, gear and more gear. With a swap meet so you can get some gear.

When? Feb 25-27th 2011

Where? Henry Coe State Park Fri. night at the Coe Ranch campground by the visitor center spots 11, 13, 14…
Sat. Hike to Manzanita Point group camp spots 9, 10

Why?!? To promote fellowship and to meet other "light minded" people to forge hiking partner alliances.
OK. To get out of the house in the middle of winter to go camping with a great bunch of people. And gear, beer.

We will have support vehicle capability to haul things to Manzanita Point.

Ken is correct on the parking situation and carpooling. There are a limited amount of spaces for parking and we could try to carpool as much as possible that would be fantastic.

Now who is going to teach me how to pitch a perfect pitch on a tarp???? I mean, I know I am a UL boy, but I am new to tarps!

PostedFeb 4, 2011 at 6:06 pm

don t look at me my tarp looked like a flag in 30 mph winds the first time i pitched it lol

Ken T, In my original post I put down, me +1 and payed for that, but it seams my +1 backed out, so that should leave room for 1 more person to join up if needed, and they can use my funds that I already sent. Thanks Jack

Andrea and I are heading in from Palo Alto – we're located only 2 blocks from a Caltrain stop and there's plenty of parking around us, including a spot in our garage if we take our car. We have a Subie Outback 3L H6 with plenty of pull for the hills – there's comfortable room for 4 adults, plenty of room in the back for gear and if necessary we can take a Thule 17 cu. ft roof top carrier. Please PM if interested.

What you guys might want to do is to organize a carpool point at the bottom of the road to Henry Coe (East Dunne at 101). That would be the McDonalds parking lot.

The Henry Coe park staff will be quite surprised to see a string of cars with eight or more bodies hanging out of each one.

Kevin. You realize that since you brought it up if it does rain everyone will blame you. I'll make sure they all know it's your fault! I'll see you in a few weeks.

You know the term "shoot the messenger" has to have some historical basis…however in many cultures the person who could bring rain was revered.

Yes. When rain was wanted.

Edit: I'd rather have snow. Now I've done it.

Morgan I PMd you but.. I am heading down from Humboldt. What day are you good to leave?

#1 Not to be Debby Downer here. The only wood for the wood buring stoves needs to be packed in. The fine is $250 for gathering wood. We might need this site again next year and I do not want to have issues.

Thoughts on that??

#2 Henry Coe is a tick mind field. Hopefully it is still too cold for those darn critters to cause problems. I just want others to be aware.

#3 We will be having a fire possibly in one or maybe two pits for warmth

Please keep in mind that we all need to be respectful and curtious while we are there. We might need this venue for next year. Speaking of next year, Ken T. and myself have a few tricks up our sleeves that might make the 2012 version make the last 3 pale in comparison.

That is all I am saying on this. More to come the weekend of the event. Thanks for all that have RSVP'd or have let Ken and I know that you will be not attending. For those that have not done so as of yet, please RSVP if you are on the ? list and if you have not paid as of today, pleae do. Ken and I spent $186 to insure this to happen. We just want to re-coupe our expenses. Thank You

Do we have a For Sale/Trade Wiki set up for this trip? If so, what's the link? I'm sure between all of us we have quite a bit to trade/sell.
