Get professional help from dancers? Have you seen Black Swan?

OK, maybe they're not all like that, I don't know any personally, just look at them enviously from the pit. But I figure anyone who smokes like a chimney, survives on pretty much no food, and still can dance like that must have SOMETHING wrong with them.

On the other hand, I wonder if they can hike as well as they dance? They wouldn't need to bring much in the way of cooking equipment or food, so they'd be ultralight for sure.

Deborah,

Have not seen the movie yet, but have heard about some juicy scenes in the movie that spark my interest.

And who are we to judge them as being messed up?

Most people think we are crazy for counting ounces and stripping down gear to the bare essentials….wait, there is that word again- stripped/stripping and the word bare…

They probably would be UL or Ultra Runners…the lightest thing you can do is to go without, right?

Jack,

Hummm, since all you saw was brownies….what sort of brownies were you thinking they were?

Clearly we are different plains of existence….you are thinking with your stomach and I am thinking with my, er….okay, maybe I won't go there.

Each year we all get crazier and crazier at these events…Judging by this exchange and all the snoring prejudice…yes YOU know who you are…I bet this will be a wild weekend. Not me of course, I am a behaved adult

Ken,

You are a model citizen.

Model Citizen

Don't think that I will re-post the photo of you showing us your sign language skills from the 2009 trip.

That said, you are one of the best citizens that I would to hang out with.

if there is one thing i have learned about jack in the 20 + years ive known him

he can always be tempted by food LOL

its going to be an awesome trip guys the bay area bpl ers are some of the coolest people you will ever meet except for ken helwig and ken thompson LOL just kidding guys they are both awesome too

on a side note

just a thought since we have a rather large group maybe we could have an informal

introduction session over the campfire on saturday night just so everyone could introduce themselves and maybe say where they are from and any comments about the trip or whatever
definatly not a public speaking event or anything just hi im so and so from wherever
and im here with such and such and am really enjoying the trip so far glad i could make it out something along those lines

what do you guys think?? good idea?? or should we just go with the nametags like last year ?

any thoughts ??

I think an "intro group" is a great idea. But then again, I'm pretty used to team building and "group" type stuff…

Ken, I have a couple of friends who wanted to join us if there is room.

If anybody above is giving up their spot I can send additional payment in to confirm for 2 more.

Jacob, I think we might have a few spots available. Please pm Ken T. as he has been keeping a list of what we have.

PostedFeb 3, 2011 at 8:48 am

Folks, it's looking more and more like I won't be able to swing this one. Feel free to give my spot up if people are being blocked out. If there are still spots available later, I may be able to commit but unfortunately it looks pretty iffy at this point.

Soooo… Anyone want to make some miles on Friday before the meetup? I'm thinking of walking about 10-15 miles on friday, then ten or so on Saturday to the meetup.

Super excited!

PostedFeb 3, 2011 at 7:01 pm

im going to be making enough miles in the car just to get to the headquarters
campground its 245 miles from home that is going to be plenty of miles for me on friday lol

Robert, you ought to paddle that thing down Coyote Creek, inside Coe park. Of course you may need some water depth.

Those coming in Feb. Remember that the park charges for parking. Carpooling is therefore encouraged.
