I think you'd do better with a press release than just emailing him and inviting him.

Casey & EJ,

I don't mind having the media out to cover the event and to spread the UL gospel, however…given the adult behavior of "when Uler's go wild"…that might not paint a nice picture of the UL community. LOL!

So be careful for what you wish for or you might make the front page of the news paper.

Tony. I will use my van as a support vehicle and we have a pickup at our disposal. I will bring my 10×10 tent too. Firewood would be awesome. Thanks for the links.

Jack. Let's not nitpick, but those two events are about the trail. Both have become increasingly commercial as well. This is not the same. I am excited. Glad to be meeting you in person finally.

Casey. Sure. If it gets the word out why not.

Tony, good point, but I personally wouldn't be doing anything I wouldn't be doing at home, and I don't mind either way. On the positive side if lightweight gospel gets more people outside, better chance our favorite parks and wild areas remain protected and preserved.

When you consider how few kids are getting out in the woods/mountains these days, it's scary to contemplate how much voter support we'll be able to count on to protect these areas in the not-so-distant future.

I am not sure but I think you have to have member status to edit. On the wiki page when you are viewing it is the word edit on the right side of your screen a different color then the rest of the words there? You can PM me your desired additions and I can do it for you if this is the case.

Ken, I too have tried to access the wiki with no avail. I too can drive the support vehicle. However, once the car is at the camp. It is supposed to stay there. I don't want us getting kicked out for not following rules

Folks here is the latest tally. If you are attending, please paypal Ken T. $2 please. The sites were $83 apiece. We are not trying to profit off of this, but trying to re-coupe our costs.

Important note here folks. Once a vehicle enters the Manzanita Pt. Campgrounds, it cannot leave until we hike out the next day. If you don't want to hike in, then this is something you can do. I have noticed a few folks wanting to be helpful and all, and that is appreciated. I just wanted to make sure everyone understands the car situation.

49 days away

Who? All nice people who are interested in lightweight and ultralight backpacking.

What? The largest non-commercial lightweight and ultralight inclined backpackers get together anywhere.
Gear, gear and more gear. With a swap meet so you can get some gear.

When? Feb 25-27th 2011

Where? Henry Coe State Park Fri. night at the Coe Ranch campground by the visitor center spots 11, 13, 14…
Sat. Hike to Manzanita Point group camp spots 9, 10

Why?!? To promote fellowship and to meet other "light minded" people to forge hiking partner alliances.
OK. To get out of the house in the middle of winter to go camping with a great bunch of people. And gear, beer.

We will have support vehicle capability to haul things to Manzanita Point.

That is, I'd like to attend with one other person.

Many thanks,

Just wondering how many families or children might be attending.

Talking with Jeremy today on a day hike and we both might be interested in taking our families/children, but wondering if there will be any other kids there for our children to play with.

My daughter is 7.5 yrs old.

Any other children possibly coming to the event?

Depending on how many are or are not coming would sway me to take the family or just come solo.

Tony. We have had just a handful speak about bringing their children. Kevin Smith will be bringing his 6 year old. We expect to be 50+ in number. Still waiting to hear from quite a few. But we are 50 days away yet.

I completely forgot about a birthday dinner I have to attend. Have fun!

I edited myself out of the wiki.

Anyone else going Friday other than the ones one the Wiki? Someone should pick up spot 12 if they are.
