25 miles, lows in the 40's I forwarded you other question to David. We'll see what can be done.

Rain out there; 50% that you will see some or none at all Raining all this week. Too hard to say really at this point. Check the forcast for Shelter Cove on the 15th

Heyyyyy!

I'd love to come. Can I join? Lemme get this straight: One night, 25 miles one way, North to south? Meet at the trail head when exactly? And I need my own bear canister, eh? I can do that.

I'm from east Sac and I'd like to carpool as well. Could I meet people somewhere for a ride? Pitch in fo' yo' gas?

Hey sorry I haven't been responding. Been on spring break, checking out colleges and such.

I'd love love love to come. But driving that far north by myself really isn't an option. If a ride opportunity opens up, with which I wouldn't have to drive the entire distance, or only pay for some gas, then I'm all ears.

As of now, without a ride, I can't go.

I live in Sacramento, and can drive some ways to you and pitch in for gas if anybody is interested! Please PM me.

Hey Ken….how does Ben affect the shuttle?

I've got a buddy that is suddenly interested in going (I'm not sure how serious). I told him it was dependent on the shuttle situation.

Ben – We are leaving from the East Bay at 9:00 or so Friday morning, returning late Sunday night. If you can get here, or arrange a place to meet in the North Bay, you can ride with us.

well guys and gals, I'm out…

was hiking with the mutt yesterday, slipped on some mud and broke the hell out of my fibula:my busted leg

I'm so upset I cant hike with you guys, I was really looking forward to seeing you all again, and learning about the local flora from katherina…

doc said I'll be unable to put any weight on my left leg for 5-6 weeks, so I guess I'll be posting a lot more on BPL… LOL

Hey Ben, I think I met you in Henry Coe park last weekend. If you can get to the 101 and leave your car somewhere we can carpool together. I live near Santa Cruz. I need to work 1/2 day on friday so we'll get up there late. I also need to work Monday so we'll have to leave Sunday when we get back to the car.

Jesse that sucks! Bet that hurt too. Sorry you won't be making this trip. Get yourself healed up as the season is just beginning. We will see you sooner than later.

lol, yea it stung quite a bit…

what sucked… I was just under 2 miles from my car, no jacket and just a photon light, nightfall came and it was pretty rough, muddy and uphill, suffice it to say it was a spiritual 2 mile journey…

have fun guys! and be safe!

Sorry about your injury Jesse. How long will you be out of the picture as far as hiking and backpacking?
I was also looking forward to hiking with you and talking your ears off with all the plants…..it's nice when someone is interested in all that.
Good luck, heal well. See you some other time.

Hey Jesse you should post your x-ray in the photo gallery under pics of the week April 5th – 10th. OUCHHHH!!!! AND crap that must have hurt, hope it's feeling better. I have to go Mon. for an MRI on my left knee, jacked it up some how. I feel your pain! Hope to see you on next hike. Did you ever get that Cocoon Pillow? Jack

nice to hear from ya jack ;) it was semi-hallucinogenic, my poor little yorkie stayed right by my side the rest of the hike (this is a dog that WILL run, once jumped out of my truck, and forced me to chase her down a 3 lane main street)

no cocoon! REI has them, but never in-stock when I'm there, alas, they should pay you, as I'm sold! like I said at reyes the therm-a-rest stuff sack/pillow is nice, but it's more stuff sack than pillow… one day…

/shakes head

Hey Ben….I wanted to let you know that if you are interested in carpooling next Friday you can go early with me or later with Josh and Kat. I'm assuming Josh's earlier offer still stands.

You would just need to get to either the North Bay or East Bay to start out.

Please post here and/or email Ken……

Expect a little rain, some wind(ever present) and a great time. Lows around 40 highs in the mid 50's, Latest forecast, whatever thats worth. Hight of the migratory waterfowl season, wildflowers are popping and maybe even a whale or two!

Hey all, I can't go anymore. Sad day. Rides were coming together and everything, but I have to chaperone my school's junior prom all of a sudden on next Saturday night, which means no backpacking for me.

I'm super sad. Maybe one day I'll get on that lost coast trail. Looking forward to the trip report and all sorts of pics!
