Ship nix ?
Nov 4, 2015 at 9:49 pm #2236160No no no no no no no no no no. Do not trust, he can't ship his clocks. He can not ship his boilers either. Obviously if he makes clocks, and makes boilers, his postage printer is broke. Alternatively he is a con-artist, and his business ventures should be considered scams. Let's assume he does make clocks and backcountry boilers, the less condemning assumption. Then his postage printer is broke, and that's why he can't fulfill orders. It would be silly to buy discounted postage from a guy who can't print his own postage and is swimming in a room full of clocks and boilers. Shipnix, postage by the guy with a broken printer who can't ship his own products, now available for your products. No thanks, I'll pass on this one.
Nov 4, 2015 at 9:53 pm #2236162I bet BPL hired this guy to ship the pack rafting DVDs, in 2013, but he just never did it !!!!
Nov 4, 2015 at 10:12 pm #2236166Devin Hendrik Ryan Don't trust with your money. Flame away. All the evidence is right here on this very site.
Nov 4, 2015 at 10:50 pm #2236176Maybe hen drunk paid Devin to ship the a2z videos to Ryan and shipdix failed to deliver ??? Didja think about that ? !!!
Nov 4, 2015 at 10:58 pm #2236178Well Devin did help Hendrik get his crowd funding. There were questions about the legality of that then. Remember?
Nov 4, 2015 at 11:15 pm #2236180HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Seriously. I can't stop laughing..
Nov 5, 2015 at 7:51 am #2236199"My first canister stove was a "Gaz 106 Globe Trotter"." Yeah, the Globe Trotter was the first canister stove I used extensively, starting in 1975. That same year I also bought a SVEA 123 for $11.25 from REI. I still have the Svea, and it's still going strong!
Nov 5, 2015 at 8:07 am #2236207Sound familiar? Fool me once…
Nov 5, 2015 at 12:03 pm #2236238FABNIK http://fabnik.com/pages/about-us Looks like Devin runs the fancy and new fabnik.com Better buy quick before he stops fulfilling orders ! The Watch Kit is sure to be a favorite for the holidays. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1763800459/the-midnight-clock-unlock-the-magic-of-a-good-book/comments Lots of new comments, but nobody talking about the clocks, just wanting a refund. Has anyone mailed Devin Montgomery at [email protected] ?
Nov 5, 2015 at 12:49 pm #2236246WOW! That comment section section is a xxxx show! He must be on a mission to destroy his own name
Nov 6, 2015 at 11:21 am #2236459Oh man… I too have unused BC Boiler that I'll probably part with eventually. I was stoked when he first announced them but lost interest as that mess drug along. Seeing this stuff gives me even more buyers remorse. I may be in the minority, but depending on the circumstances I can be ok with giving someone a pass because life happens (to all of us), but they've gotta make at least some small effort to make things right. Devin is not someone I would give a pass to though. It seems like he just has bad business written all over him – and he has started up a few since the original BC Boiler debacle. Ugh… dirty. The sad thing is that until someone has dealt with him they won't have any clue.
Nov 6, 2015 at 11:31 am #2236462It looks like Abela has the only copy of the midnight clock that was shipped ? I hope it shows up at a GGG one day so that we can get our picture taken with the unicorn. FROM A YEAR AGO ! https://vimeo.com/91472601
Nov 13, 2015 at 3:31 pm #2238036I always thought Abela was an adult. Mind: Blown
Nov 13, 2015 at 5:18 pm #2238055I have no dog in this fight but visit the thread like rubber-necking on a hwy. :) Watch the video, its hilarious in a sense: John live in person, An "unpacking" video, a cheap looking clock, broken parts, stuffed animals, … Best irony laden quote, somewhere near the end of the 10 min. video. "I hope the rest of you guys haven't got yours yet." What's with the hidden book on the "bookshelf"? Thanks for the laughs…but do hope you all get your clocks soon. My overall impression is it seems like something you'd find at a craft store for $10-20.
Nov 13, 2015 at 7:32 pm #2238078Kickstarter is the new way to get money for nothing. Ryan Jordan. Devin Montgomery. Henrik Morkel. The Death Valley guy. Promises made. Money taken. Promises forgotten. On to the next scam. Why work for money when you can just defraud people out of it. It's a tidy little BPL-based racket. p.s. Abela!
Nov 15, 2015 at 12:16 am #2238262Abela! Lost your credibility there. Duane
Nov 19, 2015 at 10:48 am #2239060From his midnight clock update he is alive and behind schedule. Did he update the boiler waiting list ?
Nov 19, 2015 at 2:55 pm #2239097I received a Backcountry Boiler several years ago and it works as advertised, although I haven't had a chance to use it much recently in open flame restricted Northern California. As for the Midnight Clock, I though forgeddaboutit, this thing is weird, the guy has jumped the shark, and never ordered one. I could tell by looking at the pictures of the clock I didn't want one. I'm suspicious of the whole kickstarter idea to be honest.
Dec 10, 2016 at 1:30 am #3439825I placed an order 16OCT16 and my credit card was billed 17OCT16. Received nothing! Contacted Devin 11NOV and he said “it should ship tomorrow”. Nothing! Emailed him again on 22NOV to ship my order or return my money. Nothing! On 28NOV Boilerwerks sends out an email to folks on the email list saying he has 30 in stock ready to ship for the holiday. You gotta be kidding me, I think to myself. I email him immediately to say that I’m still waiting on mine. He quickly replies, “I’ve got it – will be going out this week”. I sent yet another email 8DEC……no reply….no boiler. Still waiting. I already own one and I really like it. The boiler I just order is for my son.

Dec 10, 2016 at 8:30 am #3439840Randall, if I were you, I would contact the credit card company and get your money back through them. He has a long history of taking people’s money and not delivering the product. It’s a typical scam (or, if you want to be nice, worst business practice ever) — a few people do get their product, so others hold out hope that theirs is coming soon, too. Good luck.
Dec 10, 2016 at 8:36 am #3439842Better do what Dave B says, Devin is nothing but a scam artist HERE is a more recent thread about him
Dec 10, 2016 at 8:06 pm #3439921Should have researched reviews first! Lesson learned. Thanks for the advice.
Dec 10, 2016 at 8:43 pm #3439926How is Devin still allowed to do this? Is there not a better way to let folks know before they give him money that he is nothing but a scam artist? Yeah, he is a lawyer, no doubt.
Dec 10, 2016 at 10:03 pm #3439936I posted some nice comments about the boiler in the past.
I liked the idea , because I had used a similar but much bigger and heavier unit decades ago, so I wanted to get one and play with it.
I received N4 pretty quickly and posted about it.
I paid the same price that all other original backers did and ,at the time, I had no idea whatsoever that things would turn out the way they did.
