I’m wondering if more experienced backpackers than myself could weigh in on carrying closer to their upper bounds of weight on this. I feel like I get a hockey-stick curve of difficulty and fatigue with each pound beyond about 22lb, where loads from 10-15LB are not a big deal, 15-20LB are noticeable, but then each pound beyond 20LB just feels immensely harder to carry than the last, decreases my pace, and causes more knee pain. It’s not quite log-scale difficulty increases but it is more than 1:1 increases pound over pound. Hopefully that makes sense.
I’m just now starting to put the miles on but I’m wondering if this is a number that will continually be able to be pushed outward or if everyone has a wall where they just become really unproductive at weights beyond that number.
Thanks!
