Sugarloaf Pond, Superior Hiking Trail October 2001.
Sadly, this gem has dwindled to less than 5% of the size shown here.
Great pics Alex.

Thanks, Ryan. I wish I had a better camera and actually knew what I was doing behind it though. Obviously some people here do and I got to say it's a bit intimidating to post what look like chalk drawings compared to their HiDef. ;]
Alex, that looks like Lake Ediza.

Somehow, I never seem to take many campsite photos, but I made an exception for this trip.

And Canada

I love the first shot Tom.
"I love the first shot Tom."
Thanks, Craig. That was probably my all time favorite campsite for views. I wish now I'd paid more attention to photography, but we were pretty focused on other things at the time.
Chicken Foot Lake just before bed.

Ok, lets see how good some of you are at guessing where this is.

Hmmmm, looks to me like you're heading up Forester Pass (SOBO)… but I could be wrong.
You folks out West have such gorgeous views!
I had what I thought were a couple of decent campsites in CO and UT last year:

Here in the Southeast, it's almost all tree cover, so the campsites are usually pretty blah unless you get next to water, or maybe a cliffline.

@Bob, "Alex, that looks like Lake Ediza."
You're correct. The first picture is taken from a perch above Ediza Lake's northern shore. The second picture was taken the previous day near the northwest corner of Garnet Lake.
Just checking out the latest camp shots. Tom those Nepal photos are beautiful, . . and I love to camp in the snow!

Humphreys Basin, Sierras

You'd have loved it up there, Andy. Right in your element. It's an eerie feeling thinking about it now, and wondering how much those quakes altered the place. Or if that campsite is even still there.
My favorite camp on Eagle Rock Loop atop Hurricane Knob, AR. After cooking dinner and tending to my feet I lied down "for a nap." I awoke to the moon rising from the mountains and the stars above. The night was quiet. I rested peacefully.

I’m surprised this thread fell off the radar…
I just got back from a trip to Afognak Island, Alaska. Here is my first camp:

And my second:

Cheers.
