This is open to anyone and everyone. Your backpack won't be weighed and you won't be turned away if you don't know the secret UL handshake. If it's anything like the NORCAL GGG, plan on having fun among friends.

The gentleman I spoke with yesterday to confirm reservation was very nice, but kept giving me information about the northern group campsite, not the southern one. I'll sort this out later when I drive over there this spring but here's what I know so far.

If he was giving me the correct information for our campsite, there are 20 parking spots available and overflow parking within short walking distance.

I'm tentatively leaving the cap at 30 until I get a chance to look at the campsite to see how much room there is.

Potable water is available in the campground. I'll set up one one or two hand washing stations but probably won't do much more than that.

Again, I reserved the southern group campsite but kept receiving information about the northern campsite. At the very least, there will be porta potties on site.

I'm planning on a 2-3 day hike afterwards. More on this later.

Let me know if you're flying in and I'll do what I can to help you out with the logistics. I live 5ish hours away from the campsite, am driving over a day early to get things up and running, and (as mentioned above) will probably go on a hike afterwards so factor all that in if you would like to ride with me. Also, I'm in a better position to help you out if you fly in to Pasco, Washington instead of SEATAC. I have plenty of room in my truck if you need to mail gear to me and can buy you a fuel canister and other stuff you might not be able to fly with.

As far as GGG related activities go, I suspect that this will be a mostly social event but maybe we can throw in a alky stove beauty pageant or some other stuff along those lines to spice things up.

If anyone knows of good day hikes in that area, please share what you know.

Spots are filling up fast and I expect it'll fill up before the new year. Access to email/internet will be sporadic for me over the next few days so please don't send a payment unless you've heard back from me.

It's going to be a couple months before I'll know for sure but I'm going to research the hammock options.

I can also provide logistical support to anyone who will be flying in to the PNW GGG through Sea-Tac Airport.

I'll drive up. Only two more hours than driving to Coe, but three states. Damn Cali is long.

I'll get confirmation but I'm sure it's fine. One half of the campsite is going to be wood free for those who can't be around smoke. Ken is bringing up one of the propane pits for that side.

I'm in for this as well. What is better than awkward talk about gear in the rain with new people for an entire weekend. Oh, did I jinx us?

I've been to one GGG which was last year. There were some interesting presentations there, it was cool to talk gear, but one of my favorite aspects of it was just meeting other BPLers.

As far as activities go, the only thing mentioned (correct me if I'm wrong) is a alky stove beauty contest (perhaps swap) and maybe a potluck. Please share your ideas here.

So by a show of vitual hands, who's interested in having a potluck dinner Saturday night? This is a car camping extravaganza with parking near the campsite so I can bring an oil-less infrared cooker and fry up a 16lb turkey (max size unfortunately). I also have a dutch oven.

That's the real reason for having these. If you are on the fence about coming, why? This will be my eighth GGG, No fights, thefts, or casualties so far. Just a great weekend with like minded folk. I normally shy away from group events, just like a lot of you who are out there in front of your monitors hemming and hawing away about coming, not coming. Just come. You only have to try it once.
I think of it like bears. Normally solitary. But can tolerate groups when food is abundant, This is the same. But with gear as well as food.

Ian will be a great host. I'm really looking forward to making it up there.
