    Greg:

"Leor started his attempt at 7 am PT on Friday. Looking at his SPOT log, I can't find any place where he was stationary for more that 15 minutes.

But I'm open to education …"

Leor tuned his SPOT off to save the battery, so it didn't show during that time.
It also didn't look as if he stopped, but he did.

    Aaron,

After your post, I looked at the log points near the junction, found the gap, and figured that had to be the case.

Thanks for the clarification and for your updates.

This is an amazing performance, IMHO.

I've been waiting for Leor to go for the JMT record for years.

He's the only person I know that could beat Brett Manue going supported.

Even though Brett has not gone supported, it's quite obvious that he would have made up more than 1 hour and 33 minutes on Hal and Mike without starting with a 27 pound pack.

Leor's sierra adventure runs are amazing as well.

SPOT shows arrival at MTR jct at 39h30 elapsed, 2hr break there, now on his way to Selden Pass.

Piute Creek to Selden Pass… 3000 feet vertical. Right after breakfast, simply amazing.

Spot appears to be getting spotty again, likely because of the trees combined with steep terrain. If you look at the satellite image it is heavily forested.

Leor's 3:45 ahead of a time that already beats the record by 2 hours.

11:30am to Edison by my splits that beats the record by 2 hours.
    He got there at 7:15am.
    3:45+2 = 5:45 (ahead)

He only got a nap last night with his 1:30 stopped time. Another 2 hour break at MTR junction wouldn't have given him much sleep either.

Unless he gets some more sleep soon, he's going to turn into zombie mode and start loosing time like crazy.
I know he'll be getting his next crew (or pacer?) at Silver Pass. Hopefully he can one more sleep period of 3 hours so he can be good to go until the end. He'll loose almost 2 hours off the split time from his current lead but should make it all up after some sleep.

Getting up Silver Pass is very easy. Looks like he's still killing it.

No update from the SPOT for a little bit, but let's assume Leor got to Reds around 6:30pm. That would put him 2 hours ahead of Aaron's splits, meaning that he lost a couple hours vs. the projected somewhere since Silver Pass or so. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything, but it definitely gets "cruxy" tonight! Go Leor!

This was posted by Aaron Sorensen on Leor's FB page around 8PM PST (?): "Leor Pantilat arrived at Reds Meadow at 6:15pm. His spirit was sky high! Now 6 hours ahead of Hal and Mike's split time to Reds."

    Thanks Eileen.

Looks like he stopped for about 6.5 hours.

At 7:10 am MST, approaching Donohue, he has about 50 miles to go.

After that much sleep hopefully he can finish strong! Sounds like he's doing great and will finish sometime this afternoon…

Looks like he'll be at Cathedral Lakes very soon… the final stretch, how exciting!! Hope it goes well. Apparently, when at Donahue, he was 2 hours ahead of Hal and Mike's time.

    Done!

From the SPOT messages, I calculated 3d:7h:48m

I'm not sure if the first SPOT message was precisely timed with his start, so that may not be his "official" time.

No matter what, AWESOME!!! Huge congratulations to Leor and all his support!!!

Shaved about FOUR AND A HALF HOURS off!

I am in complete awe of this athletic endeavor.
