This is just a feeler. I have no concrete plans, but wanna stick this out there.

I'd like to do a night or two in the the Trap Hills before the snow hits, and if anyone is interested, we could work out shuttling or a simple out and back.

Ideally, it would be when I have a long weekend, but I don't yet know when that would be. So anyone interested, keep this in the back of your mind, and I'll update this if i can nail down a weekend.

You could hire a private helicopter to drop you off.

Or hire a Limo and have party in the back with a load of backpacking hotties.

2300 mile drive for me Travis. But I would go right through Bozeman. I could pick up Ryan, willing or not.

Ken, if you picked Ryan and drove him here, I'd pay for your gas. Scouts honor.

Travis,
The trap hills are gorgeous. I think they might be the hidden crown jewel of Michigan. Definitely a must see- I'm dying to get back there- bonus points for doing it in the last week of september when the leaves should be perfect. Keep me posted.

Damn — 5.5 hours from the Mighty Mack. I wish we were still living on the other side of the lake.

IkeTim,

We could two leave cars at carpool somewhere south of the bridge and proceed on in one and split the drive.

What do you both think?

Travis — do you have a date in mind? It would be great to hit while there were some leaves left on the trees.

Ok, looking at my schedule, the only weekend I can get off for a long one is September 6-8. I know it's short notice, but its the last time I'll be free for an extended weekend before the snow falls.

I'd be able to meet at the trailhead early Friday morning for a full day of hiking, and would have to be at my car by noon on Sunday.

I'm down with whatever if other people can do that date.

Sorry guys, I know it was late notice. But if you ever plan a trip, I'd be glad to try and make myself available. I'll for sure be doing a few winter trips in the UP.
