I have a few tubs with sorted items. I have one called "pack ready" for items that I would be using on a regular basis. That failed a bit and I need to clean it up– and use a much smaller tub!

Your post is timely. I just started doing a Spring cleaning on water bottles, cups and cook pots that have accumulated. There's more! Hellllpppp meeeeee!

It's an addiction, lets see who else needs an intervention! LOL

You guys just made me feel a whole lot better about getting a second shelter and a second/smaller cookset!!

Be careful! That is where is starts, a second this and a second that, which becomes three and then four, and the next thing you know, you're old and gray and you can barely get to the door through the avalanche of gear. STOP, NOW, WHILE YOU CAN! :D

Half the reason my car isn't in the garage right now is because it's taken over the garage.

But the stuff in the garage is worth more than the car :) You sure don't want the good stuff outside!

Years ago I was going on a field shoot with a couple of my photography school classmates. We realized that we had three full 4×5 camera setups plus a pile of other 35mm and roll film gear in a 1965 Plymouth Valiant. The cameras were worth far, far more than the car.

Perfect timing on this thread. Two corners of my room have already been taken over, and it's been 13 months since I really got started…

No gear room to show, sorry. All my gear fits into a quarter a closet. And mine is a 1937 house — with small closets.

I AM old and gray and I DO have more gear than I should – but I "might need it".

6 stoves
3 tents,
3 sleeping bags
4 sleeping mats/mattresses
4 cooksets
4 boots/hiking shoes
4 backpacks
3 daypacks

And uncounted gadgets.

Not to mention the backpacking/hiking clothes.

And then there are the backpacking books…

Gear Rooms is the correct terminology. I have the back bedroom full of gear. The garage is full of skis and gear. The trunk of my car holds the overflow. The dining room is full of MYOG fabric projects still in progress. The living room is full of small stove projects still in progress. Two or three closets full of winter ski clothing.

Okay on the shipping costs, but that Nalgene weight 50 pounds ;)

I really do want to get it all down to a couple tubs plus a closet bar for the clothes, sleeping bags and backpacks.

I need to work on the hiking library too… tip o' the iceberg, indeed!

Not a lot of UL gear when this was taken… but there is more now!!

Newton is so bad that even his storage shelves are made out of cuben fiber with titanium frame.

Max, that chair isn't very UL but, does the ergonomic cushion at least pull double duty as a sit pad, virtual frame, and insulation piece?
