If I get a 30 deg bag with 10d inside and out, it comes stock with 11.9 ounces of down. Would an additional 1-2 ounces overstuff be helpful? Is 2oz overkill?

Also how does the fabric of the rev x feel compared to 10d? Anybody have issues?

Michael,

1oz overstuff puts you at 30% overstuff and 2oz 40%. 40% is close to the max I'd ever want it overstuffed. If you want it that warm bump up to the 20% and maybe as 1oz to that if you really want it toasty

The 10d is like silk and I love it.

I'm really looking forward to getting my EE quilt! This will be my first quilt, so I just went with a 20* RevX w/ no overstuff.

What exactly does overstuff imply? I understand that it means there is more down stuffed into the baffles (self-explanatory), but is a 30* bag with overstuff simply a ~25* bag? One of the earlier posts in this thread you (Tim) mentioned that overstuff helps in humid conditions. Just trying to figure out what the difference is between an overstuffed bag and one that is not….just simply out of curiosity.

overstuff is done to ensure full baffles over time, reduce down shift, increase Resistance to humidity and yes to make it warmer.

Simple enough. I thought maybe there was a difference between overstuff and adding more down to make a bag 20* instead of 30*.

I would like to purchase the 2012 Prodigy 40* Charcoal 10D NB1 liner and shell 6' REG (52" from 2012) With new elastic straps/No sacks – 18.25oz – $160

I'm out of town but can have funds through Monday morning. Tim, would you hold it and ship on Monday when funds come through? I need this quilt for a trip that I am leaving for next Friday. USPS Priority Mail should get it to my place by Thursday.

Thank you.

Tim,
Thanks for taking it down briefly for me. I apologize for the lack of communication. I was heading back home from Arizona on a family vacation. We stopped at a GoLite/Merrell outlet on the way home- that combined with Southern California traffic and having the be at work at 530PM did not permit me to deposit money to purchase the quilt. I will try purchasing tomorrow if the quilt hasn't sold. Thanks again.

Hi Tim. Are you looking into or do you ever see your company offering a dridown option for the fill of your quilts?

If you still have the 2012 Prodigy 40* Charcoal 10D NB1 liner and shell 6' REG (52" from 2012) With new elastic straps/No sacks – 18.25oz – $160, I'll take it.
