Machetes for bushwacking.

For many years in NW Pennsylvania I have help clear XC ski trails in the fall. My machete was a great tool as long as I was caeful with it. Same with my little chain saw.

I've always tried to quit using tools when I was tired. Too many mistakes happen then.

I find mine a good multiuse tool. I sometimes have to hack through a blowdown, I run into those Himalayan Blackberries here in the northwest in places, I use it to cut a hot dog stick once in a while, and it works for splitting kindling and weighs half as much as a hatchet (which I'd never carry anyway). I like the one I have. Reasonably light, compact, versatile. It's a pound I choose to carry.
