this is tarp and hammock in the snake skins with the tree huggers wrapped around

Here is my MYOG silnylon SUL tarp packed away in its silnylon stuff sack.

In front there is a mesh bag with 10 6 1/2" titanium shepherds hook stakes.

Included in the picture for a sense of scale is my water bottle of choice, a 1 quart Gatorade bottle.
In the picture below is my tarp set up in my back yard so that you see what is in the stuff sack. In its stuff sack the tarp without lines weighs 10.8 ounces. It has a 90" ridgeline inbetween the front and rear beaks.

I use Kelty Triptease for the lines. Triptease is advertised as 1 oz. per 50 foot length. I have shockcord self tensioners on the guylines. I used @ 120" of shockcord for these MYOG tensioners. I'll hazard a guess that the shockcord and line could add 2 or 3 more ounces to the total weight of the tarp in its stuff sack.

My tarp, stakes, water bottle and the rest of my gear are carried in the pack above. The tarp and stakes go inside and the water bottles go in the outside pockets.

Here is my floorless tarp/tent. Its a appytrails Mark III and including the ground sheet, 9 stakes, stuffsack, and tent body weights 1.98 pounds. Go without the ground sheet and its 1.63 pounds. Appytrails.com
Those of you posting tarp photos PLEASE include photos of your mosquito netting and ground cloth AND/OR bivy sack – just to be totally honest.
(And don't say you never, or seldom, carry this stuff. If you ever carry it let's see it packed.)
BTW, I have a TT Moment, shown several times in this thread. Of course it includes netting and floor. :)
Here is my cuben floorless tarp packed. I put it next to a ti tent stake so you can see how incredibly small it packs up!
Of course, it only covers my groin, but man is it light!
.
Here is my myog 5×9 silnylon tarp, myog bivy with bug netting, stakes and guylines, and my myog 8×11 down pillow. Happy Eric?

All the MYOG stuff makes me jealous! I hope to take some sewing classes some day and join y'all.
Here's my 2 person Refuge X lightly stuffed into it's 12" x 6" stuff sack. Beside it is my MYOG silnylon footprint for it that doubles as a solo usage tarp.

Is that your sewing machine in the background? How mod!
nm
Doug, I assume you only use that tarp on solo trips?
LOL!! A BPL instant classic!!!
"Is that your sewing machine in the background? How mod!"
Ha Ha…yeah. It's my $25 sewing machine that only does the basic straight stitch and it doesn't even do that very well, but it gets the job done. I'd love a nice sewing machine someday.
these are great guys. thank you so much.
Wondering aloud if anyone has a zpack hexamid all rolled up they could show me…
the pictures online have me a little smitten and totally intrigued (also with Henry Shire's Moment)
…long shot, but I thought I would ask.
incidentally, the MYOG corner of the ultralight universe is certainly the goal by the end of the year. thanks for posting.

Does anyone have a Montbell Crescent1 that they can show with a reference item next to it. Ie 1 liter nalgene bottle as I am looking to upgrade my 1 person tent with something that packs smaller, Thanks.
Eric,
I started with a tent, moved on to a hammock and quite recently went back to the ground using my tarp. I just finished my MYOG bug net to go under the tarp.

With a 1 liter water bottle for reference here is my stuff sack fully loaded with my tarp, full length bug net and Kooka Bay pillow with MYOG pillowcase all neatly stowed inside.

The total weight on my scale showed 19.00 oz. My tyvek ground sheet which packs flat inside my pack weighs 3.1 oz. The grand total adds up to 22.1 oz.
Here is the breakdown. Tarp with lines attached in the stuff sack, 12.70 oz. Bug net alone, 4.3 oz. Pillow with MYOG case, 2.0 oz.
I weighed my stuff sack alone just for fun and it weighs 0.25 oz. So at this point I can say that I crammed 18.75oz. into a 0.25 oz. sack. ;-)

Oh there was an R in there? I thought he said "on solo tips"…

(BPL rating went to zero when I LifeTimed, just zero'ed again. Ha)

Tarp/Stakes/Lines/GroundCloth
I dont have a pic with me at this second… but I realized my TT Moment was 20" wide, as was my Neo Air.
So I put the Moment on top of my Neo Air and roll it up like a burrito. Then put it in the stuff sak it came with 4" x 20". Seems to work GREAT! No real increase in volume. Actually savings, because now my Neo Air is strapped outside with my TT instead of in my bag.
Hope that helps someone.
Hey, Wallace, that sounds really cool. Have you thought about storing the Neo Air Inside the tent (Where it normally goes), and then rolling it up?
I'll have to try it myself!
great suggestion with the neo air combo and moment — i am traveling abroad at the moment but intend to try that combination when i get back
