Is this deal available now? It didn't work for me on a .83 deal. The price stayed the same right through to checkout.

It says it starts 1/9 up there at the top. $50 is around what I paid for my Peak UL poles which I used on the WT3 trip in 08. Couldn't pass them up for that price.

I'd imagine the .83 will be 50 percent off retail price, not what is shown now. Those poles will be more like 70 bucks IMO. We shall see.

I just called them. The sale rep told me that it will be 50% off the existing price, not the original. WOW!

then it'll be a coupon you can use to take an EXTRA off the existing price. Notice most of the stuff on sale is REI inventory they are trying, literally, to sell out of. They ran out of the sub-kilo's when they reduced them below 50 percent, and now they'll do it to the remaining stuff.

Osprey Atmos's are on sale now (.83), so they'll be an additional 50% off too.

Looks like they'll unload everything that they, and every other outdoor manufacturer are re-designing for 2009.

Does this deal start at 12:01 am on 1/9 for the website or is it the morning of 1/9? Anyone have any info? I have a couple of sweet deals that I want to pounce on. I'm sure this stuff wont be lasting long with a sale like this.

Thanks–it turned out that the item I wanted ended in .93 and didn't get me any extra discount. Thus far, I've managed to hold off on spending any money, but every time I look at those $15 pants and $30 Patagonia fleeces, my will crumbles a little bit more.
