+1 Permatex

I can't imagine why one would make it more complicated.

I go to the gas station and pump $0.09 into a glass mason jar. Then I dispense $0.33 of silicone caulking into the jar.

Put the lid on and shake vigorously for 35 -40 minutes to create a foam.

Dump the foam into a syringe and apply.

Then to get rid of the air bubbles go over it with a hair dryer on high.

Pick the remaining bubbles with a pin.

Then do the inside of the seams.

Easy as it gets, 3 hours tops.

Let it dry 24 hours, spray it with the hose and get it cured good. Let it dry 24 hours.

Finish with a quick dusting of chalk.

No offence but I can fully seam seal some tents including the mixing time (1-2 minutes…) in about the same time…

"It's sarcasm Franco."

No, can't be. He's my JMT Pencil Buddy. Plus everyone knows gas stations in the US are required to deliver gasoline into glass containers and sell seam sealer in bulk.

Blast , I did not read the rest and forgot that Willie was posting it.

Just back from frolicking in the fields with my girl, still numb and my brain was not really engaged.
(not that it makes much difference when it is)
BTW, the frolicking is for her, not me.
She has been putting on some weight of late so she needs to move a bit.

I use marine goop mixed with white spirit in the UK, as its UV protected, similar to shoo goo.

While looking for information on "Through the Roof", I found out that there is more than one brand named "Aquaseal" There is "Aquaseal" that McNett sells and there is the "Aquaseal" brand of products (http://www.aquaseal.com/). Aquaseal Waterproofing Products include: Seam Seal, Map Seal, Polycoat (waterproof coating for nylon)and various products for sealing and conditioning leather. I don't know if there is any connection between McNett and Aquaseal Products. Aquaseal uses Silicone oil and other polymers in their products. They don't really say which. I think that most of the leather care products are silicone and most of the fabric care products are polymer. Some of their products are solvent based, some are water based, in some, it's your choice. I don't have any first hand knowledge of their products, but I am interested in the Map Seal. One fairly significant difference between Silicone and rubber polymers is that rubber burns, Silicone generally doesn't. Does that matter? It depends. A flame retardant coating on a synthetic fabric might keep it from melting and sticking to your skin.
