Packrafting is lightweight backpacking that includes water travel and a broader definition of what is comfortable - either on the trail or in camp - since the boat and associated gear add five to ten pounds of weight to a pack load. Packrafters either choose to haul more weight on the trail or cut back on luxuries in camp when they embark on a "classic" trip that includes equal parts hiking and paddling.
