Thru Pack! Just got my CF fanny from Paul yesterday and I must say it is awesome. Weighs 1 oz. and has just under 3 liters capacity. He’ll do custom orders too. Mine has a sleeve on the back so I can slide it over my pack’s hipbelt buckle or use it across the chest via sternum strap as well.
I love my Zpacks “multi-pack” and you can use it in a lot of different ways!

+1 to the Zpacks Multipack. It can be used in a number of different ways.
I didn’t get on with the multipack as a bum bag. Tiny webbing.
Montbell makes some.
Ultimate Direction has a pretty good selection.
I like this one and use it to hold shovel, probe, and skins…..5.6oz.

McHale toplids are also great.

+1 with Ken’s observation on the multipack.
I’m considering one of these:

I recently got one of these. Well made. Minimal design. Light. Super Cheap.
I cut off the stuff sack. It was just in the way of the internal zippered pocket.
Haven’t used it backpacking, yet.

Another fan of Gossamer Gears hipster!!
Not really ultralight, maybe ultra weird, but I have considered using an apron instead of a fanny pack. An apron like you’d use for gardening.
