I decided the duomid is the tent for me. I’m now just trying to figure out which fly / inner combo I should get?

I value protection/ storm worthiness and durability most.

This would be in three seasons mostly. However, I do have a wonderland trail trip in late September which could have unpredictable weather.

I think you will get better responses if you share a little more information. How tall are you? Where do you backpack?

I think the Duomid with a Solomid XL inner is a nice setup. There’s not much weight to be saved by going with the Solomid XL tarp and you get a really useful and protective vestibule.

I’m 5 10.

I’ll be backpacking anywhere west of Texas.

Also, I’m more concerned about which materials for the fly and inner combo if money is not an issue. Light weight is not as high a priority as storm wearthiness and durability.

Also it might be worth sending an email to Ron at MLD. He will give you a short but excellent answer.

An interesting look at two MLD tents including the Duomid with a specific look at durability of dcf vs. silnylon by one of our own. Good job Ben!
