    Back when Roger started backpacking they were still using canvas tents and caribou hides to stay warm…no sleeping pads.

    Seriously though Joe, you might as well go with an Enlightened Equipment Conundrum Long X-Wide 0 degree quilt/sleeping bag hybrid. Shoulder circumference is 70″ and it has a closed footbox, but it can zip up completely like a sleeping bag or open up like a quilt. The 0* Long X-Wide has 26.6 oz 950 goose down and weighs 37.7 oz total (don’t choose the 850 duck down). You can also get a draft collar, however no hood, but that’s what insulated balaclavas are for. Right now you can get 20% off on a custom quilt at EE.
