There will be a Tenkara camping get together at Esofea Park near Coon Valley, Wisc May 16-21, 2019. I have included a link to pictures from last years get together. I will post more info later. If you are on FB many of the Tenkara groups will update info also. Tenkara Wisconsin will be the main group.

That looks like fun!  Water looks a bit high, but clearly fish were caught.

We had a huge rainfall two days before but by the second day we were finding fish. I think we had people from 10 states show up.

I’ve been wanting to travel there and check out their creeks.  I’ve been over to the driftless part of Minnesota (Preston region) but never Wisconsin.

Robert,  They have an incredible amount of public access in SW Wisc. If you ever want to hook up I can show you a bunch of nice water.

as a lifelong creeky trout worshipper,

as a big fan of greg brown – “going driftless”

as well of author Ted Leeson, and his great book on the Driftless, Jerusalem Creek: Journeys Into the Driftless

…this is firmly on my bucket / creel list! I do not think I can make it out from Orygun this year however. David can you recommend more reading & viewing for me in the meantime? Thanx.

Just a short update on the Campout. We have 3 on stream presentations lined up.

  1. Rob Worthing will put on a casting clinic
  2. Graham Moran will demonstrate Kebari Manipulations
  3.  reading the water by Paul Vertrees
  4. On Saturday night we will have a communal cookout featuring grilled chicken breast. We will also be putting on a swap meet and gear sale.

David, I’m interested. I’m pretty new to this but have the gear so it would be nice to learn best practices for doing this.

What day(s) are the presentations going to be?

Other than camping is there a fee for attending?

JP,

Sorry it took me so long to answer.

Not sure exactly when the presentations will be. Probably Friday and/or Sat PM.

No fee.

You can pick up to date info on the Tenkara Wisconsin FB page.
