Tarptent QC question regarding Scarp 1 fly

Call Henry. He’s very good about dealing with QC issues. My guess is that he’ll probably ask you to send it back and let them take care of it.

You should call them. I’ve had nothing but great experience with Tarptent.

It is part of what you’re paying for. If there is a defect in the stitching along the cross pole, it will expand under tension as you use the tent and become a real problem.
Now is the best time to deal with it, and no one is better qualified than Henry/Tarptent.
They have the knowledge, materials, and motivation to protect their reputation.

Understood, and makes sense. Glad I did not seal it yet. Will wait and talk to Henry before doing anything else. I think your right too, when that picture was taken, the tent was not even staked out at all, so it will experience significantly more pressure once out “in the bush”, and really start to pull.

It’s a great 4 season tent with the ripstop inner. With the X-ing poles its quite stable.
