I am planning a thru-hike of the TRT in September. I had planned to follow an itinerary similar to one that Erik the Black proposes, starting at Tahoe City and hiking clockwise. I’m having trouble finding transportation options to Tahoe City, however. My plan was to fly in to Reno, and I can find airport shuttle options for that, or public transit to a hostel on the North Shore (not a bad way to go, and I might do that). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get to Tahoe City without a car? I could fly in to Sacramento if needed, I haven’t purchased any tickets yet.
