Agree! I wouldn’t have it any other way either.
Nice set up, great gear, and looks inviting. ‘‘Tis the season, finally.
- Tis the season.. Yes. and thankyou. Here is Blackdome mountain viewed from Blackhead mountain in the Catskills, NY.. October.

As do I. I can’t imagine ever going back. I’ve still been working through suspensions to find one I love and I think I’ve finally settled on the simple beckett hitch using dyneema straps from RBTR.
I want one in the house. Best sleep ever.
We don’t get out often, in fact the other week was the first trip in a long time. It was super cold and I ended up in the tent with the kids and had to abandon my hammock to keep them warm. I slept horrible. The biggest problem I have is pads, they used foam pads and they were not warm enough for me. Also not comfortable at all. About 3am I gave up and got the fire going. The hammock is just so comfortable and I hate trying to sleep on the ground.
I suppose if I invested in an expensive wide warm pad I might sleep ok in the tent. The other problem I have with pads is my arms fall off the sides, then my shoulders fall asleep. lol I know I’m a mess.
Invest in hammocks for the kids!!
@dirtbag They do have them. Next trip they will be in their hammocks too. I thought the tent would be easier for them this time and it worked fine for them. We are going new years eve and should be better prepared.
I’d like to try it this winter. Looks easy for Shug:

the return to Black Head mountain in Catskills.. March 8 – 10, 2019, our winter climb of Black Head for Catskill 3500
