Looking for suggestions on where to purchase either a Titanium or Aluminum Lid for a Snow Peak 600ml Mug/Pot. I found the carbon fiber not snug enough and a Folgers plastic coffee lid, though it works, isn’t snug either. Contacted Four Dog Stoves via email and phone a few times over the past week without reply…..so any alternatives and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don’t have this pot but you could see if the Toaks lids would fit. They have a diameter of 95mm which is comparable to the SP600 96mm outer diameter

Toaks Lids

A cheaper/custom option would be to use a pie tin or something similar to make a lid that would fit snugly in your pot.

This Link had some good ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions and links. Four Dog Stoves was my first choice as a a few years ago (probably 5 or 6 now) he made me a custom Titanium Esbit Stove that is still going strong and still my go-to for solo trips……but the Titanium Lids for the SP600 come up as not in stock and he hasn’t replied to my inquiries.

One links shows a Snow Peak 600ml Mug/Pot with the top from a 1 cup ziplock bowl container….so it’s time go go through the pantry and cupboards.

Thanks

I have had good luck making my own lid out of aluminum flashing.  Cut it to size so it hangs off the edge a little bit, leaving four tabs to bend over the lip.  The tabs will “clip” onto the edge creating a snug fit. pretty darned light as well.

Gosh, this a lot of cinsernation over buying a $14 ( including shipping) custom made Ti lid for a $30 Ti mug..

Good thing the OP is not buying a car or a house…It might require hiring a CPA ..:()

Seriously, I have owned all three ready made products suggested (Four Dog, MBD and Toaks lids)..
THE ONLY one I would waste my time and money buying for the SP 600 is the Four Dog titanium lid. It will fit the pot and is made of material that is at least as tough as the Snow Peak pot itself.

The Mini bull lid is nicely made but lacks long term durability and chances are, the Toaks lid will NOT fit the SP pot nearly as well as the two custom US made lids. Heck, most Toaks lids dont fit Toaks own pots worth a a sh#t let alone another makers;)

Get the Four fog lid and worry about something else:)

BTW, the reason why the Four Dog staff has not tedponded is that its FALL. A big part of their business is their line of LW tent wood burning stoves..Hunters and Outitter love them and its their busy season. Its a very snall familly owned business with a handfull of employees.
Trust them with your hard earned $14 by making an onlibe order and I bet your lid us in hand within two weeks. IMHO, it’s money well spent.

Yes, sometimes Don K. of 4Dog is pokey about replying to an e-mail, but he eventually will get back to you. His titanium lids are great, but I replace his bulky and heavy wooden knob with a silicone tubing covered “omega” made from titanium wire. Much lighter and less bulky than the wooden knob, and indestructible.

The lightest option of all is the #4 carbon fiber lid from Ruta Locura, $18 plus ~$4 for shipping. Not cheap, but very cool.

Sell the SP 600 and buy an Evernew 500 or Toaks 600 mug as they come with titanium lids.  Evernew is a much classier lid as the fit is snug and sweet.

I’ve become a big fan of the jetboil lids, if they fit. Combined with the gossamer gear cozy they make for a great insulated coffee setup.

Thanks for all the replies. I would order from Four Dogs but when trying to add to the cart it will come up as not in stock and won’t let me proceed. I had a carbon lid from RL previously for a BPL Trappers Mug and didn’t like the fit.

Looks like I’ll wait until Four Dogs has them available as it seems to be the best option.

Thanks again :-)
