I’m having trouble finding trail runners big enough for me for backpacking / thru hiking. I have been wearing Altra Lone Peaks size 15 for the past few years and loved them. They changed the sizing of them for the 3.5s. I now wear a 16 in the Lone Peak and they are to small! Does anyone know of trail runners that come in 15 or 16 that would be worthy of thru hiking?

I’m in the same boat. Going to run out of my backstock of shoes soon.

Watch it Tom,
Two thoughts from the 1980’s converged in my head:
Nike invented the low-cut trail-hiking shoe with their “Lava Dome” in 1981. I’ve never bought a hiking boot that covered my ankles since.
I had a 6’2″ GF who shopped the Nike factory store because they not only made, but also stocked through women’s 12.
So I checked and it appears Nike’s men’s trail-running shoes are currently made through men’s 15:
…and they run small
New Balance is the only company that I can find shoes on a consistent basis.
And New Balance do a range of widths and they tell you what they are – unlike most smaller companies.
Cheers
Brooks Cascadias seem popular. I haven’t tried them since the 8th version, now on their 12th. 16s too.
My size 17 Big Boy Friend (BBF) got Keen Voyageurs in his size online. Check sites specifically selling big shoes.
The rest of his shoes are New Balance, and the pair of leather work boots from Red Wing.
