A mini exo – promoting the use of a bent back. Very non-OSHA.

Cheers

This might have application helping people with mobility issues. I know a kid that has to come to school in a wheelchair some days. The lowkey version of this technology to give a little extra strength and stability could really help people.

It’s a mini-exoskeleton

You don’t control it. It controls you.

Folks unable to access the wilderness. I think of myself as I get older, but I’ve had my turn. There are others that are almost totally deprived. Should there be exceptions to our wilderness protocol or is that a slippery slope to unwanted progress? Food for thought.

Only if you let an evil penguin (disguised as a chicken) get the controls as part of an elaborate heist. Either way though, I would avoid the techno trousers.

Seriously though, I think something like this would be a good alternative for those with lower leg/foot issues. It was mentioned towards the tail end of this article. I have no idea the success rate but it seems promising. But it isn’t cheap. I would want to know the success rate before plunking down ten grand. There are a lot of desperate people out there who would love to go hiking or just walking again without a lot of pain and if it works it is worth it. But if it doesn’t you feel like a fool.

That’s why you never wear your InReach on your left shoulder. Or is it the right shoulder?
