Hi all, for the past couple years I have been trying to get in one good multi-day backpacking trip with a couple good friends. Two years ago we did Grand Canyon N to S rim, last year we did the Outer Mountain Loop in Big Bend N.P. Now we’re looking for a trip for 2016.
I came across this which looks amazing:

None of us have ever hiked in Colorado, and one of the concerns I would have is the elevation. Has anyone ever done this loop and can comment on difficulty, what to expect, etc?
We live in Austin, so no elevation here to speak of. The previous trips I mentioned had some elevation, but maxed out around 8000 feet. So hiking in 8-12K feet on this loop would be a new challenge.
Thanks!
