It appears that something is not quite right in the routines that generate and send “Your Account Has Expired” email messages or perhaps with some part of the renewal process.

I apparently successfully renewed my Premium account July 25, at least I think I did. The web page that shows the account status and last order shows the renewal that was made on July 25. On July 27 I received an email from Backpacking Light that notified me that my account has expired. I logged in and the account looks correct and I do seem to have access to everything that I should have access to. My bank does show the transaction for the renewal on the 25th and that it cleared on the 26th.

Anyway just FYI there are some conditions under which bogus account expiration notices are sent to subscribers.

I should have included this too. The first two lines of the body of the email are:

>>>>begin snip>>>>

Craig,

Your backpackinglight.com membership has expired.

>>>end snip>>>>

I suspect that line should have said something along the lines of “Your backpackinglight.com membership has expired.”

Contact customer service as historically nobody from BPL reads this forum. Not kidding. Use green circle with question mark in bottom right of screen. And take note if you used PayPal to pay as it may still be set to automatically renew.
