The Lowepro Newport 10 is just big enough for even the VI and has a nice zip pocket on the front that can hold two or three spare batteries.

but,…. it just has a loop on the back, you’d need an attachment to clip it to your pack straps.
To attach to shoulder straps I’d go for the hmg pouch at 1.4oz. It’s a big big for general use though.
