I like them too, and they have a great selection, but their website is a terrible impediment and not having close-ups of materials is a nonstarter for me.  They would probably get more business if they did even a few small things to update and modernize.  But it looks like a site from 1997 still.

owfinc.com is another good one.  But they’re even worse, technically.  You have to talk to a human on the phone.

I get some simple stuff from zpacks.com. They have a materials page where you can find simple materials/gear/attachments

Quest Outfitters is cool as they sell tent poles and parts to build your own. They also have a decent selection of fabric for outdoor clothing and gear but considering what is available these days I feel their selection could be wider.  Their plastic hardware is on the basic, cheap, no frills side but works well.  And I agree, their website and product lines seem to be from a decade ago in the least.

Ripstop By the Roll is my current fave, mainly because they carry Robic in 420D and their Hex70 comes in XL.  Their HyperD 300 is perhaps my favorite fabric for packs.

Seattle Fabric and Rockywoods are also good.

I have a problem…

I have only ordered a few times from Quest, and received excellent service and prices. Agreed that their website is crap though. I recently ordered their swatch packs and wish I’d done so earlier. Beware though, a few of the swatches appear to be mislabeled (e.g. polarfleece with the wrong weight). They were also happy to ship internationally at a decent price, which is rare.

I like Quest too – my #1 spot. I like how they have reasonable shipping to Canada, and they always email me and say it was even cheaper so they refund a couple bucks.

I had ordered from Quest the day I posted my previous post here;  the next day they sent an email saying that they had overcharged me for postage and that my order had shipped.  This was a “personal” note and not a form letter generated when marked as “shipped”.  Nice touch for sure, but would have been nicer if they had included the tracking number.

They had also mentioned they are looking to pick up new items to carry, and were asking for suggestions.  So, if they don’t have something you want, now is the time to let them know.

+1 about Quest.  I have repaired the poles on multiple tents and other repairs. good selection. good prices. fast shipping at low cost.
