Because I haven’t yet got an answer from Patagonias usually good customer service.

What is the difference between the Fitzroy down hoodie and the Fitzroy down parka?

Only the down hoodie seems to be available at the moment, or at least I can’t seem to find the parka on their website.

Even if I could afford one I don’t need something as warm as their Grade Seven and I have been waiting a long time for them to get their act together and make the Fitzroy in an XXL.

So, the parka weighs 147 grams more than  the hoody and I guess that weight is pretty much all down.  It is on half price sale and, none are available.  So, looks like an easy choice.

Really important details such as fill weight, sleeve and back length are not stated. Also that link goes to the old model and I was told by CS last year that a new model parka was coming and in XXL.

I have the parka from last winter. It is super warm, and is box baffled in the body but sewn through in the arms. Highly recommended if you can get one.

I think the hoody is sewn through throughout, as they don’t specify that it is box baffled. It also likely has less down so it is lighter but but less warm. Probably still pretty warm though.
