Did a fun four-day trip with Jerry in Eagle Cap. Couldn’t actually get to Eagle Cap because of snow, but did plenty of climbing – over Tenderfoot and Polaris passes, and up to Ice Lake – to make the trip more than worthwhile. Mostly great weather too.

    Some pics.

Nice!  We did that loop. Went to fraiser for a night then back out the valley to ice lake instead of up into eagle cap. Polaris pass is cool!

Good to hear there is still a bunch is snow

Our original plan was to go to Frazier after coming down from Polaris, but when we got to the creek crossing we had to change plans. The creek was running way too fast to safely cross, there were no log bridges or such, so the only other way across was to cross a snow bridge with the creek raging underneath it. We decided against that… :-)

Very good call, Doug, although you could have just sent Jerry across first.  It would’ve been a no lose situation.  If he made it you could have continued with your original plan.  If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have had to explain the whisky thing to his wife.  ;-).

Trust me Tom, I was thinking of that. I just couldn’t get Jerry to fall for it…

Great photos – I love the deer’s expression:  “What are YOU doing here?”

If you’ve ever hiked up there, you know the deer is saying, “Aren’t you going to come pet me?”

This deer was licking the leaves I peed on.

This must be why they hang around campsite, bugging us.
