Curious – it looks like the roll top closure has no buckle and is not easily detachable, and it’s connected to the side compression and the pad straps too.

It appears that to close it, just fold it over the front and clip the buckles to the sides. They already offer something similar for the other packs.

Then again, that does look like LineLoc’s, not buckles… it will be interesting to see a video on this one! I plan to tour the company later this month so I will get to put my hands on it, without having to buy it! Lol…

My BPL Absoraka and MLD Burn close similarly. But most of the roll top closure bags that attach at the sides also have an over the top strap from the haul loop to the large pocket.

I like it a lot! Very similar in design to my own MYOG pack that is currently in progress. I like the roll top side cord compression but not too sure about integrating it into the backpack holder. The blue is a freakin’ awesome looking color too!

This is much more preferable for me than the updated Zero. Interesting that they are using a removable and sliding hipbelt to account for different torso sizes compared to the Zero/blast adjustments.

Well done Zpacks!

Looks quite a bit like an MLD closure.  It seems quite similar to a Burn.  I would consider it for sure if looking for a new pack.

Oh yeah, you’re right, James.  I didn’t notice the lack of buckles.

Should be called the Arc Blast from the Past;  looks like ZPacks is taking a step back with this one.

I dunno, they got their own custom Cuben, but at $199 I feel this is priced too high for what looks to be such a simple pack.  I get it, you’re really paying for the (lack of)weight, but I’ll see if I can MYOG something similar for way less…

Right out of the gate, it’s not a pack I’d buy. (“no frame”).

Even at 20 lbs. a pack could use a frame to transfer weight to the hips via a padded hip belt. The very few ounces two carbon fiber frame strips would add would be worth the weight in added comfort.

“Pack comfort ain’t all about low weight.”  (I love to quote myself.)
