Has anyone tried this pack, now that it’s been out for a few months?  Thinking of lightening up for next year.  I love my HMG Southwest pack, but I could save nearly 1 lb by going with something like this.  Personally, I’d prefer it if they could add the aluminum stays that the HMG Southwest uses (I haven’t used a frameless pack before), but I’m curious about it.  I know that the Prophet has a long following–I prefer my packs in cuben to help to minimize water absorption and to save weight.

If you’re looking for a similar pack with aluminum stays then check out KS Ultralight Gear or Superior Wilderness Designs. They both have framed options and will customize the fabric.

Stays would be useless with that kind of hipbelt. Can you fit a bear canister in it?

Was amazed that my nylon Prophet is eight ounces lighter than my ULA v.1 Ohm.

David, I have this pack.  I have been really happy with it.  The shoulder straps are very comfortable.  It seems waterproof.  The weight is good.  It’s a comfortable size.  For me, it’s good up to about 25 pounds, but I usually carry smaller loads.  No complaints here.  Happy user.

As a disclaimer, I have been using frameless packs for a long time.  This pack is a step up in weight and durability for me.  My prior pack was a frameless Zpacks non-hybrid cuben pack.

I have an HMG Windrider 2400 and a cuben Burn with a prophet hipbelt (no extra charge from MLD). One thing that I think MLD is the best at is shoulder straps. I’ve owned packs from the following to compare: GG, SMD, zpacks and HMG.
